Winter is here and we all need some warm food to be fit and do our work. Our body needs strength and this dish gives you full instant energy. This gond ke laddu will strengthen the bones and improve digestion.
Gond means edible gum. It has medical values. It is rich in protein and iron.
It keeps body warm in winters and one should avoid this in summer due to its heat properties. It is very good for all age people from kids to old people.This gond k laddu is only made in winters in India.
This laddu is also given to the women who are recovering from the childbirth.
Gond ka laddu is a sweet traditional dish which is made by edible gum, Jaggery or sugar, clarified butter or ghee, some dry fruits like cashews almonds, pistachios ,wheat flour and whole blackpepper.
There are many vriations to make these laddus.
This recipe is my grand mothers recipe which is basic and can be eaten by all age people.
So lets start how to make this Nutritious sweet balls-
Ingredients
Edible Gum-200gm
Ghee-½kg
Wheat flour-1.50kg
Sugar-½kg
Almonds-handful
Cashews- handful
Pistachios- handful.
Blackpepper-10 to 15
METHOD
1.Take edible Gum in a palte. It will look like the below picture. If any stone or bark is there will remove them.
2.now in a kadhai take ghee(clarifiet butter).
3.add gums and fry it till they will puff well. Fry them in medium flame. Make sure to puff all the gonds because if it will not puff then they might stick up to the tooth while eating.
- Enough ghee should be there so that gums must be immersed so that it will puff well.
4.keep stirring and let all gond soak ghee and puffs well.
Take them out in a plate.
5.In the same kadhai add more ghee. Then add wheat flour.
6.mix up well.
7.I need some more ghee so I have added little more.
8.mix it well and keep the flame medium to low.
9.Saute the wheatflour. Till 20 to 30 mins in low to meduim flame.
10.the atta will turn deep golden and aroma will come. Make sure to stir unless it will get burnt so be carefull, keep stirring.
11.now take cashews, almonds, Pistachios and blackpepper.
12.grind them in coarse powder.
13.then add the coarse powder to the atta and mix well.
14.Then add fried gond to it.
Add all.
15.Then mix it in a big platter. Cool it down.
Then add sugar powder.
16.Mix all
17.And form a round shape in between your palms to make a shape of laddu.
Like this.
18.And then after that when the laddus are in normal room temperature keep them in a air tight container.
And have it every morning.
It is very yummy and good for health.
