Blogging for me was something I never dreamt of doing in my life. I had a browsing phone quite alright, but all I do with my phone is just few things like checking the latest things online and chatting with friends on social media.

It was during my youth service days that I came across a colleague by name Afen Joseph and username tjoe123, who always spend most of his time on his phone typing and posting.

The place where we were posted to serve was a remote village in Taraba state where there was no network functional around the buildings.

For us to find network we would have to climb a high mountain for that.

But this my friends was consistently typing with his phone every night and very early in the morning he goes to the mountain to post his articles.

At times in our place where we stayed each time he cooks for us he would always take a picture with the food to post it the next morning. We kept wondering what he was doing. Infact each time he is typing with his phone any conversation you engage him in will yield little or no fruits because he does his typing with all his mind.

One of the things that drew my attention to him was the money, anytime we are in need and calls on him, he always respond positively with cash. We didn't lack much money during our youth service days because of him.

One day he took his time to explain to me and our other colleague what he was doing and told us that we can equally become part of it.

The part that caught my attention was when he said that we would receive payment for our articles.... I was like "Are you serious". For so many years I have been dropping great content on my Facebook page without any farthing.

I decided to give it a try, he introduced me to Steemit where I began my blogging journey, as I continue with Steemit I decided to join other blogging platforms like that which led me to opening a Hive account.

Am still very new in blogging platform and am hoping that one day I would gain grounds like every other person that is enjoying blogging.

To be honest with us one of the things that motivate me to blog in this platform and others is the upvote. But I got discouraged when I discovered that most of my wonderful post are not recognized in some Communities.

These led me to speak to one of the top officer in Steemit and this was what she told me

When I started in this platform, I was not looking for upvotes. I was busy learning how to make quality posts, how to complete all my achievement tasks, how to make meaningful comments, how to make obey the rules of all communities. Whether they upvote me or not, I took it as a school. When you enroll in a school, you pay your own cash to learn but in steemit, we are learning for free
You need to change your mind set. Make at least 10 meaningful comments on other people's post in a day
Make at least 1 post everyday
Join different communities and fulfill their requirements and participate in contests
Make sure you are powering up at least 50% of all your earnings
When I joined, I didn't even cash out until after 6 months.

My blogging device is my smart phone infinix Smart 5.. It has really been helpful to me in this adventure...

MY ADVICE

I would like us to give a proper orientation to anyone we are introducing to this platform. Don't put the upvote infront of them as their motivating factor because if we do, it would really be a discouraging factor if they don't see the upvote. Make them see other reasons why they should join the blogging platform different from the upvote...

It really nice sharing my experience here, thanks for the privilege...

Thanks for your time.

Is it too common in your country to color your hair with red color especially girls?

This is beautiful. Through the Hive platform, he was able to touch your lives and convince you. And so far, you have been doing a great job of it.
