Everyone knows that it is not everything we put in effort that will end up well simply because there is time for everything, and that is why some things have to fail while some have to yield for us.
I have put in efforts and my time in so many things that didn’t end well for me, but I will be sharing some of the failed efforts and, of course, the one that brought me good results at the end since that is what this prompt is all about.
As you all know, I am a hairdresser, a successful one at that, and as you all also know, learning work is not just a day job, nor is it easy, but with the mindset of getting good results at the end, I put in all my efforts even when I couldn’t see the clear picture of where the effort was taking me, and I am glad I didn’t regret my decisions some years back when I decided to go for this profession.

I have different handwork, and that is to tell you guys that a lot of efforts have been made, but they just don’t come out well for me. When I was in my mom’s house, she sent me to a computer school to learn how to design websites and to learn how to operate on different computer packages.
Then I had a dream of becoming big with that profession, and I never for once felt like quitting, but after I finished learning, I couldn’t find a job with the certificate, and my mom couldn’t afford to get me a shop as well.
I moved to Lagos with the mindset of searching for jobs with my certificate, and when I discovered that time was going, I went to learn another handwork, which was catering. This work took more than a few efforts from me because I had to do practicals every week, which was quite difficult and costly for me, but all thanks to my elder sister, who was funding the practicals for me. After learning I couldn’t find a job again, I began to wonder what I would do with my life or what would ever bring good results for all the efforts that I have made.
Then I remembered that my mom used to say something like, “When there is life, there is hope, so never give up.” I never knew learning how to make hair would bring good results like it did; all I know is that I want to put in all my effort and see where that takes me.

After learning, I didn’t bother looking for a job with my certificate because it seems like looking for a job is a waste of time; instead, I went from being a hairdresser to being a receptionist so that I could save up and open my shop, and with the help of my husband and my sisters, I was able to get a shop where I am now.
At first it seemed like the shop wouldn’t work or bring anything good because all I did in the shop throughout the first year that I opened it was sleep and go back home, all thanks to my side hustle, which is Hive. Instead of giving up, I took money from my Hive account and bought some stuff in the shop, which people can buy even if they don’t make hair. But now I have so many customers, and I sell things, which brings daily money into my accounts, and that is the good result my efforts have gotten me.
The results I am getting from the shop are all worth the efforts I have put into it.
