Kids need to feel that sense of autonomy as they mature, and part of that is letting them make their own choices.
Exactly my point, too. Parenting isn't an easy job and it takes wisdom to be able to nurture kids in the right path. Parents shouldn't be too strict to their kids but to strike a balance in allowing them find their own paths, make decisions and go through some challenges themselves, of course, they must not be too distanced from them to offer them their guidance and support.

Wisdom is the principal thing in parenting. Some parents do forget this; they are everywhere in their children's lives to the extent of being permanent dictators even as they grow into adults.
