This is a holiday memory I can't forget anytime soon becaue it was my first time at the beach, I was free, no older sibling to tell me what and what not to do. Juat myself, gf and friends.
I didn't grow up in a family that loves outing and noisy / packed places. We prefer the opposite of it. I grew up to have friends only in my neighborhood and sceondary school, I don't have friends that stay any inch away from my neighborhood. And one of the reasons is because I don't make friend easily, it takes time; so I would rather stay and play with the same friends I've known.
Something changed, like an adage in Yoruba says, "Twenty kids can not play together for twenty years".
This means that same set of friends cannot be together as friends for over 20 years; which was what happened to me. I no longer have these same friends I had when I was little again. Mostly, because their parent moved from our neighborhood to another, even far away.
Luckily me, I made few more friends through a friend that remained in our neighborhood.
Now, I am quite free with people than I was.
On this particular holiday after several weeks of work, my colleagues and I decided to go to the beach for relaxation and fun. We all agreed including a married woman that was also our colleague. The day came and we waited at the agreed location till we were complete.
Obviously, I took my girlfriend with me (she's now an ex) others had their lovers too. I was so eager to go because the only time I had the opportunity to go to the beach, I was too scared to cross the water to get to the island. I got that chance again and didn't miss it.
We took a local engine boat that crossed us to the other side which was the island where the main beach is. The price we were charged was quite higher than we expected but we were prepared for it.
We got off the boat and we had to walk 15 minutes to the main beach.
Oh my God, it's not exclusive though but the view was so amazing, cool and beautiful. I never imagined it would looked like that, though I have seen pictures and videos of it few times. We all kept our bags, pulled off our clothes and ran to the wave rushing towards us.
I felt like a bird in the sky, free and in control of everything. I total forgot about any worry at that time, smiling like I was insane. I was very happy.
We got hungry and decided to buy 2 Hollandia yoghurt and biscuits, we shared them among ourselves and we continued the fun.
I sat with my gf, she didn't join us because it was her first time meeting my friends, she was shy. We sat down to watch the waves rushing powerfully as if it would swallow us.
We saw crabs at the beach being carried out of the water and rushing to get inside the water again; some crabs were digging holes at the beach. I was curious and asked my gf then if she knew why, she said no - funny me said, the crabs haven't seen any lady as beautiful as she is so they were hiding in the sand to take a glimpse at her face because her skin was glowing like the 4pm sun.
I had to be romantic and funny so she could have her own share of the fun too. I remember I dragged her up and pushed her to the water and then we started.... y'all know how it goes from there 👀 😂. We had our romantic moment....
......we are no longer together but it is still a memory I cherish since it was my first time at the beach.
My friends were busy swimming, actually, only one out of us had the courage to swim properly in that mighty water. The rest of us had to be cautious about how we play in it😂.
I had one of the best fun of my life there at the beach; so I don't think I will be forgetting about it soon.
I hope I would be able to recreate this this holiday or something more better than it.

My first time at the beach was a really beautiful experience although, I was unable to swim. I had good time with my friends and picked up a lot of shells, lol.
I wish I still had those dope lines, I might have found another love now😂.
