In India, Paneer is a good option for vegetarians looking to replicate the feeling of eating meat in their dishes. Paneer is versatile option and can be easily incorporated into various culinary preparations like curries, kebabs, and stir-fries. As my doctor advised me to increase my protein intake, every Sunday I eat paneer dishes. There are many way of cooking paneer and today, I end up cooking Chilli paneer in my way.
Paneer is considered an alternative for protein because it is a dairy product with a high protein content, making it a valuable option for vegetarians and people looking to increase their protein intake without consuming meat. My Dad has arranged fresh Paneer from the local dairy unit, who supplies every Sunday to my home. Fresh paneer taste much better than those available in the market. Before I start cooking the dish, I made small cubes of paneer.
I stir fry it on pure Ghee for some added taste and sprinkled Black Pepper powder into it. I kept them separately to cool down.
As the name suggest, it is high on chilli. I was craving to eat some spicy stuff and what could be best way to make Chilli Paneer. The other item, that I made use of were :
- Onion 2 pcs
- Capscicum chopped half quantity.
- Tomatoes - one pcs. (many people make use of ketchup)
- Green chilli 2 pcs
- spices and salt as per the taste and quantity.
Here I am making use of 230 Gram of paneer.
I half fried these chopped vegetable on a low flame. Ot allows propper cooking. I added little salt to make tomatoes cook easily.
After they turned brown, I have added my paneer to it. Paneer is made up of milk, so ot takes little time to cook. I mix all the vegetable properly in the pan.
Now in case anyone one like to eat them dry, they can take them out. Else let them cook fr some time and added some little water to make it with gravy. I have added all my spices in middle of of cooking. I does not made use of much spices. I used little quantity of Turmeric and readily available maggi masala. It completes my cooking.
The batter-fried paneer provides a satisfying crunch with a soft, creamy interior. Many people do make use of sauces while cooking to give it more spicy look. But i kept it simple as possible. Chilli paneer is considered delicious due to its combination of crispy fried paneer with a flavorful, spicy, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce.

we have quite a lot of Indian food options but I don't think I have tried this Paneer before. Time to look out for it a bit.
