I am sure that there will be one or two thing that everyone of us have tried and that we put so much effort into it. At the same time, some people are so lucky that they do not really need to put so much effort into something before it turns out well for them. There are a lot of people like them out there. I call them the lucky ones. Also, there are some people who always find it difficult to achieve things. Not like they would not later achieve it but they just have to put more effort. They are also lucky but not as lucky as the first set of people that I mentioned earlier.
What category do I fall into? Well, I fall into the category of people who have to struggle and put more effort. Self observation helped me to realize this. I realized that I gotta put more energy and vibe into something that I want to do. This will make me share one of my latest experiences. Every Nigerian graduate or most of us go for a scheme called the National Youth Service Corps. It basically means serving our father land. Before we become corp members, we always make sure that we follow the normal process which is registration.
Firstly, I went to the cafe on the first day of registration but my name was not yet on the list till the fourth day. I know how much effort I had to put and how stressful it was for me. Aftrr I did the registration, I called the person who was supposed to help me do my direct posting to Lagos just because I don't think I can live in any other place aside from Lagos. I called him and he told me that the slot had finished. I actually felt bad but I kept on trying other means and I was able to achieve that.
When it was time for camp, I got to the camp, took nine hours before the registration got to my turn. When it got to my turn around 9:00 pm, I was told that there is a mistake on my name so I have to go to my institution to collect another statement of result. At some point, I wantrd to give up because the stress was too much for me but I chose not to. I had to leave the camp and traveled to another state just to get a new statement of result and I spent more than $10. At the end of the day, I was able to register but all the stress and effort was worth it.
Now imagine, what if I had given up? Will I be able to register? I went through about three kinds of stress but my effort still helped me to achieve what I actually wanted. So if truly you want to achieve something in this life just add more efforr. If things go hard, you should go harder. That's the rule!
