The alien girl: creative Sunday art

in Hive Learners27 days ago

Hi everyone, hope you all are doing great. I'd love to show you a drawing I made for this week's creative Sunday. It's funny how I found it relaxing and fun to draw at night. Last midnight, I was inspired, and I decided to make this drawing. I got inspired by a screenshotted photo of Anok Yai while I was clearing old and irrelevant photos from my phone.

When I began to prepare to draw, I realized that I mostly draw in pencil so I decided to push my boundaries and do a different drawing. I had a colouring set (which I stole from my niece haha), so I thought, it wouldn't be bad to use some colours. I also decided to draw my reference as an alien. I was so nervous and excited at the same time because I wasn't sure if it would turn out nice, but I guess it did, and I'm glad I tried something new. This drawing inspired me to think outside the box and push my boundaries and imagination.

Tools used

A4 paper
Mechanical 0.5 hb pencil
Crayons
Colour pencils
Eraser
Ruler
Q-tips

Process

I started by drawing a straight line as the plumb line. This serves as a guide when I draw.

I sketched out the face, starting from the lips to the rest of the face. I made the eye an upward cat eye shape.

I started shading. I started from the lips as well, to the nose and the rest of the face

I add elf ears to give an alien touch.

I continue shading. I shaded the ear the neck and the chest area.

I shade the eyes in colour Yellow and Orange for the darker corners of the eyes.

I shade the hair. I wanted to make the hair white but I went with a light shading to give it a grey look.

I shade the cloth with black crayons and pencils.

This is the final result, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and stay creative❤️
