The mystery of working hard

Life is full of mysteries and when they say life will not give one what one deserve, one would think it's a lie, but to be candid, this assertion is not just an assertion, but the absolute truth. This is because, atimes one would work hard and get nothing in return, this is no sin but what the mystery of life is all about and some other time, one would do or put just little effort but at the end the reward for the effort would be enormous. All these things are about life and its mystery.

I have seen people putting all their effort in a thing and at the end, the reward did not come out as to the degree of the effort they have invested in the thing or the project they performed. Like I said earlier, it's part of life and I have also seen people putting little effort and afterwards the reward came out to be enormous, such is also life. But no matter the outcome of our effort, we should all know that that's not the end.

So, going by the topic before me, I would like to share my own experience about effort and reward. It all started after my service year from the NYSC. Then, after the service, I have nothing to do nor fall back on as I was of a poor background. So, instead of me staying idle, I decided to put in for any vacancy being advertise both on the pages of the newspaper and other media outlets. But before then, I have heard that getting job was not that easy, most especially the well paid jobs.

So, as a result of all what I have heard, I decided to work hard and put in all my effort just to beat the competition when the time comes for the examination or interview which I always do to the best of my ability.

So, after putting in for the first job opening in a company in my area, I decided to sacrifice my time to prepare for both the exams and the interview, back then, I burnt my candles just to emerge one of the best in the interview after I have been shortlisted for the interview having passed the examination.

But when the result of the interview came out, I was no where near to the required grade used for those employed. So, this pained me so much that I needed to start all over again, but this time around, I was so weak because of the last failure or disappointment I encountered from the previous exercise.

So, for the next one I put in for, I mean the job opening in another company. I didn't really prepared like I did in my first trial, maybe because of the circumstances that surrounded my first outing, but notwithstanding, I still did the little I could do just to fulfill all righteousness, but after the exam and the interview, I came out to be one of the best 4 applicants shortlisted for employment in the said company. So, after all the whole exercise, I was just looking at myself and was surprised at the two events that took place within the shortest period, and it's then I realized that this life is full of mysteries and no one knows what and which of his or her efforts that we count at the end. So, we should not just stop by putting in our effort anytime anyday.
