WAS CIVILIZATION A GOOD OR BAD IDEA?

in Hive Learnerslast year

Hello dearest hivers, trust you've been having a most beautiful week like I have?

Welcome to my blog ✨️

Today, I'll be sharing with us the blessing and troubles of civilisation in our world today but first let's make sure we understand the word "civilization"

What is it?

It is a stage or system of social, political or technical development or the process of having a highly developed or intellectually advanced society or culture.

When we compare our present society to what we had about 100 years ago, we can see that civilization has brought about a lot of advancement that we never thought possible. It was really a great idea.

One thing that makes me so happy about it is the fact that he has helped a whole lot of businesses to thrive and in return, economies have scaled.

●Through the invention of faster, cheaper and more effective means of communications like that have been developed, traders, business people are able to manufacture, market and deliver their goods and services to customers far and near and even attract these customers to themselves.

● The advancement of various means of transportation has also made business grow because they can deliver rhein products and services to anywhere in the world, something that wasn't possible decades ago.

More significantly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ has spread rapidly into every man's world through the Internet. Now, we have the world's #1 daily devotional : The Rhapsody of Realities, available inall 7,858 languages of the world and is being distributed everywhere such that places amd people that cannot be physical accessed are reached electronically.

What more shall I say?

Education has also improved through building of learning facilities and equipment which has contributed to it becoming assessable to many people. Like someone can decide to be home schooled by the Internet and won't look shaby when standing beside someone who attended school physically.

The health care sector, financial opportunities and so on.

Now delving into the negative outcomes of civilization and I'll start by saying that when men fail to recognise that they are the masters and that the products of civilisation are tools, they become slaves to them.

Values and norms have been watered down

It's common to see people display disrespect for things highly esteemed, everyday on the Internet.
It's like they no longer have values and moral conduct.
They brag about how they are promiscuous with someone else's partner, they dance naked on live TV, mad those who have the money buy up the media houses to spread lies, deception and profanity.

Laziness has spread like wild fire

As much as it makes life easier that everything one could need is at the snap of his fingers, it has also made people lazy in the sense that they can order for lunch without having to go to the market to get food stuff and cook, they can even get their groceries delivered to their doorstep.

Some people who drive cars everywhere and everyday have almost forgotten how to take a stroll to a nearby place because of they don't want to stress their bodies" or even exercise and that's one reason for a lot of obese conditions and terrible sicknesses.

Knowing all these things, how do I cope?
Well, I leverage on the advantages, spread my knowledge about these things to people so they can take advantage of the good stuff, know how to direct their lives rightly and stay above the disadvantages of civilisation.

That'd be all for now...

Till next time beautiful soul... ❤️❤️
