I'm aware that it is a bit late to make this but bear with me for a moment.

It has been about 3 years since I joined Hive and this is going to be the first time I'll be making a year recap and talk about a few goals I set for 2023.

2022 was a year where I did a lot of reflection on my life including my activity on Hive. As I looked back at my contributions to Hive in the past, my thoughts were "Man, I didn't do a great job at all."

Putting Hive aside, 2022 was also the year where I started learning new skills and focus intensively on them. During this period, I started improving my programming skills and learnt how to draw. It was also during this period that I started going to the gym and I enjoy going there now.

2022 Recap

Looking back at 2022 on Hive, nothing special happened. The only thing that happened was my usual on and off activity where I create posts for a few days before disappearing for some months and then repeat.

I've always been having this constant battle with consistency where I'll be feeling really good and flowing with several post ideas, and other periods where I'll have completely no idea of what to post. It felt almost as if I had forgotten the topics I'm interested in.

From my Hive recap of 2022, I managed to make 18 posts which is averagely 1 to 2 posts per month. I was also able to make 54 replies which is frankly nothing to be impressed about. I was mostly active on the Hive gaming community because I'm a fan of video games - most especially indie games. I was also active on Threespeak because that was the platform that I used to upload my Osu gameplay videos. I ventured into the programming and dev community since programming is something that I started taking seriously in 2022.

Goals for 2023

One thing that 2022 has taught me is that goals are more than just writings. Image Source

I figured that if I'm going to remain on Hive, things will have to change and what better way is there than to set goals and try my best to reach those goals.

These are the goals I set for Hive and will work towards:

  • Make at least 50 posts by the end of the year

  • I will amass a minimum of 500 HP by the end of 2023

  • I will make 200 replies by the end of the year

I'm not so sure of how soon I might reach these goals. I didn't want to set something so high that might get me discouraged. But I'm looking forward to see how things will turn out this year.

As always, thank you so much for reading and I hope you all have a great year! :D
