Health is wealth, they say. You shouldn't be too busy to not give yourself some good time out to rest, relax and recuperate. Maybe you work in an office or any other environment where you sit for a long period of time? Some times you are under pressure to finish a task which takes up to several hours to complete. This can have cumulative stress effect on the body.

Here are two things you can do to find body and mental relief.

  • Stand up erect, bring your legs together and spread out your arms sideways, then raise your two hands upwards till they meet above your head pointing straight up. Try not to hold your breath. Maintain pose for about 10 seconds while breathing slowly. This is a vertical plank position and it will help to normalise blood circulation.

  • Take a stroll in the field, garden, park, sit at the beach side or walk down a quiet street. Natural environments have a wonderful way of refreshing the human mind. A serene atmosphere can be a great therapeutic agent for the mind.

So, after sitting on one spot for a long time at work the other day, I decided to take a stroll down a quiet street close to where I live and I found this beautiful tree. 👇


This path is like an avenue and it leads to a residential area. It is most often quiet down here especially in the evening.


The tree is planted about 10mtrs away from the path but it has very broad branches spreading a bit into the path thereby causing some shelter.


I don't know what type of tree it is but I like the fact that is tall and beautiful with broad branches can can shelter humans and animals from the sun.

I had some good relaxing moment sitting under the tree and listening to the birds chirping on the branches above my head. Did I find relief? Yes, I sure did!
