On a sunny Sunday morning, there's nothing wrong with visiting the beach or a location that has a pleasant natural charm, but before visiting the beach, my feet point to a location that is often visited by morning joggers. This location is one of the locations often visited by the city's residents, namely the Pusong Lama Lhokseumawe Reservoir, Aceh. To see the location, you can search on pinmapple.com.
The location which covers an area of almost 7 hectares, which is oval in shape, is flanked by several villages such as :
- Pusong Lama Village, Lhokseumawe
- Keudèe Aceh Village Lhokseumawe
- Mongeudong Village, Lhokseumawe
These three villages, which are included in the Banda Sakti sub-district of Lhokseumawe, surround a local tourist destination that is often visited by residents of the city and outside the city.
Uniquely, although it is still in an urban area, the location still has an unspoiled natural charm. The wide location as mentioned above is utilized by every resident who dominates the Lhokseumawe urban area.
All groups of people who have different statuses often take advantage of this location, either above the reservoir or inside the reservoir, even animals that fall into the category of poultry and fish are in it, as well as unspoiled trees.
People with different social status, such as :
- Among the officials who become and control the level of the City government
- The servants of the state namely the army and police often need that location
- The fishing community often cultivates the Reservoir land area
- Food vendors (culinary) often trade in the Reservoir area
- Young people often use it as a hangout (nongkrong) location both day and night
- Village children's often play in the reservoir area
- and, every group of different ages and professions, both men and women also take part in controlling the Reservoir land
Each of the community elements mentioned above controls each location according to their profession, for example regional officials, police, soldiers, controlling the oval-shaped Reservoir road covering an area of 7 hectares, as a sports facility, which can be seen on Saturday mornings and Sunday mornings.
Local fishermen who live in villages flanked by reservoirs, often use the reservoir land in the water as a means of cultivating fish and several other things that are looking for sustenance.
Traders or women selling food (culinary) take advantage of the roadside of the reservoir (pavement), as a location for seeking sustenance (selling various foods) every afternoon until midnight or 03.00-10.00.
Young people, take advantage of their free time when entering the evening as a hangout location, while tasting a variety of food and casual events at the right time.
Likewise, village children often become the reservoir area which is located in it as a playing location, namely playing football every afternoon and on Sundays when entering school holidays.
Below, you will see some photos that are often used by some elements of the citizens who are often seen every day.
Traditional fishing wooden boats, children, and some mangrove trees, are seen doing activities on a sunny Sunday morning.
Some of the village children, who are residents of the village, are swimming in the puddles of the reservoir, while fishing boats can be seen being placed as emergency docks.
Swimming activities are carried out by village children, when they finish playing ball, they take advantage of the existing location as a sports area.
Behind the maggrove trees, there is a location that is not flooded, but not an island, just a field that is often used by children and adults as land for fishing.
This mangrove tree, decades old, has been around for a long time before the Pusong Lama Reservoir, was built and made into a multi-purpose area for residents of the city and its surroundings.
These mangrove trees, growing around each reservoir road or the boundary between the main road and people's houses, are generally seen, they have grown and control the reservoir land about 30% north of the city.
Do the trees that grow inside the Reservoir area have occupants? Of course! This location is a territorial area for bird species, such as herons and other swamp birds, not to mention reptile species such as monitor lizards, snakes, and several other habitats, often using maggrove trees as their homes.
Village children, fishermen, as well as maggrove trees and every egret are often seen in the area, a very natural sight occurs here.
Unfortunately, photos of the TNI and Polri, as well as regional officials cannot be presented, because my visit today was not on time, because my visit was around 10 am, while the other elements of the community mentioned above have returned or have finished. I mean, they have been back home for a long time.
Likewise, food vendors (culinary) and young Kaula cannot be presented in the form of photos, because their activities can be seen when entering the afternoon until the evening. Meanwhile, my presence in the area was exactly at 10.00 WIB.
Perhaps, if there is an opportunity, or if you have free time, you will be reintroduced every activity contained in the Pusong Reservoir, of course complete with pictures.
Thank you very much to friends who always help and introduce my posts to other friends, as well as to the curators who never get tired of reading and support me, I hope you are all in a happy state and I hope you good luck for the future.
