2025: A Clean Slate for Growth and Purpose...

Happy New Year Once Again To You All!
It's New Year and a moment of reflection on the year gone by; a time to get to a clean drawing board and make a perfect plan looking at the mistakes of the past year and building a better plan from there.

The good thing about New Years is that they offer us clean slate to work on. However, this doesn't mean that everything we did in the year 2024 was entirely wrong, well, I don't know for you but personally, I know some of the things I did in 2024 were good and worth continuing.

Hence, this is an opportunity to amplify those good things I did in 2024 and an opportunity to do away with the others. A great avenue of letting go of things that doesn't serve us any longer and embracing changes and things that helped us last year which can lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful life getting us closer to our goal.

It's not just about making new year resolutions and drafting wonderful impossible plans, but rather, it's all about making intentional choices and decisions to change because without those strong wills and resolution, it will just be another year and not a New Year.

Let's explore areas I want to get better:

  • Building Financial Discipline:

In this new year, I will be making conscious effort towards building financial discipline. Impulse buying is one of the greatest rival of financial discipline and I'll be cutting it down this year and rather embracing minimalism, savings before spending, creating budget of important things I need and exploring various Investment opportunities.

  • Procrastination:

Procrastination has occasionally stalled progress. Entering this year, I will try my possible best to tackle tasks as they come rather than allowing them pile up.
This would not only foster progress but will make me have a coordinated year.

  • Checking Up On My Family And Relatives:

This is something I have been doing but entering this year, I would love to double up on that. Calling and checking up on my family members, friends and relatives as a way of fostering healthy relationships and growing in unison.

  • Setting Achievable Goals:

It's the moment of setting goals but entering this year, I am not just after setting goals, but rather setting realistic goals.
Expectation kills and what fosters the type of expectations that kill are setting goals that aren't realistic.
This year, I will be setting goals that are realistic and then pursuing them, ticking them off the boxes one at a time but that doesn't mean they will be less daring goals though.

  • Resting And Reflection:

"All work no play they say makes jack a dull boy", although there's no jack here, lol.
This year, I will be taking intermittent rests and avoid overworking myself even as I pursue my dreams.
Taking time to reflect on my progress and mistakes too using them to straighten up the path to better progress.

It's not all about perfectionism rather it's all about taking small and meaningful steps towards progress.
Change is always hard but most times, it's always rewarding.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day ahead 👍

That saving is one thing one need to take very important, impulse buying is something I don't have but I know some other things that kill finance which I have done away with.

I think I need to improve the way I check up on family and friends. These are good changes. Keep it up and own it.
