Finally, I have arrived in Ondo State! I arrived yesterday night after a long journey of about 10 hours. Not that the journey on road was a total of 10 hours but it was not a straight travel. I had to drop at certain stops to enter another vehicle before I could get to my final destination.
Before embarking on the journey, I informed my mom about my adventure and you know how mothers can be. Not that she told me not to travel but she wanted to know every detail about my travel. For a while, I sat to wonder, Would I also be like this when I become a parent too, and I realised it is totally normal to ask all these; in fact, it is very important to ask all these in case anything happens on the road; they will be able to help out.
I told her everything about the trip—why I was going, where I would be staying and the friend of mine I was going to meet. And when I arrived at my destination, I had a video call with her so that she could be aware of my arrival and be assured I was safe.
It feels good to travel somewhere I have not been before alone; if it were some years ago, I don't think that would be possible. I would not even be able to afford the travel, nor would my parents even support it, but now the young child is now an adult and can also make some financial decisions by himself.

The Reason for My Travel
The reason for my travel to Ondo State was to support my friend to hold a Hive Event by the Vibes Community. The name of the event is Vibes Talent Hunt, and I would be one of the judges for the event; more like an external judge. The event is held at the Ajasin Adekunle University, which is in Akungba, Ondo State. The other two judges are from the school while I am the external judge. This is done to ensure fairness as some of the people that will be competing may already know any of the first two judges while there is a very high probability that no one knows me.
My Arrival

On arrival, I was warmly welcomed by my brother @obaro. He really entertained me and fed me. He got me Chivita and called his babe over to cook a special meal for me. Because of the chivita I had earlier drank alongside kilechi and bread buns, I was kind of full that night so I was not able to finish the delicious meal his girlfriend cooked for me. It pained me that I couldn't because I do not like wasting food.
I was actually surprised the network at Akungba was good and that my router was able to detech 5G network in the location. I did not expect so because while on the way, the area looked so underdeveloped and I was seeing a lot of mud houses, and my phone network showed no signal most of the time. I am glad that the network got better when I got to the student area, which is still fairly developed.
Although I felt Abeokuta is still more developed than this location. From what I am seeing here, I think the electricity and water in Abeokuta are better compared to this place. I will get to know more as I stay longer.
The Competition
The competition will be held in two days, one for today and another on Saturday. The one that will be held today will start by 2pm, I do not know when it will end but I am aware that there are 48 Contestants singing today for the competition. From the looks of it, the event might be as long as 4 hours, and probably by 6pm or latest 7pm, the selected few would have been chosen for the final round on Saturday.
I will share more updates later!
