One lesson learned today:
I was watching a video, and the man was explaining an analogy about currency notes, one in dollar notes and the other in their local currency. Obviously he had the dollar note, which was a lot higher in value as compared to the amount of notes he had in their local currency.

He mentioned an experiment he tried by presenting the two notes to people in the local areas to see which they would choose. And the result of the experiment was that the people chose the notes of their local currency against the dollar regardless of how the dollar is ten times worth the amount he had of the local currency. This is because in that environment the people obviously did not have access to exchange the dollar for their local currency and would prefer it because it is easily tradeable, making the dollar less worth to the people as compared to their local currency.
In a different environment the dollar, which is normally more valuable than their currency, lost its value while the other was given more value given the fact that it is obviously of a lesser value.
What does this all mean?
No matter our value, our environment determines how much we are valued and if we are not valued enough, then we should change our environment.
Someone who is of higher value can be devalued based on the environment he finds himself. You cannot expect a lion to function at full capacity in the water as compared to an hippopotamus. Or expect a whale to function properly on dry land.
There is always an environment where we are valued or will be valued if we find ourselves in it, and we just have to take conscious effort to identify our skills, set of values we can offer, and how much they are appreciated in the environment we find ourselves in, or unless we will not be appreciated.

Environment plays a key role in our lives. A percentage of our whole being is a result of our environment as it can control or determine how much a man can see and think. The dollar currency wasn't picked because everyone in that environment has no idea what it was, there is always a chance of of shared knowledge circulating in every environment, hence, almost everyone behaves and believe same thing, attach same value to things.

Everyone of us is special. It is the environment and the peple around us that may treat us like and make us feel ordinary.
While the effect of the environment cannot be denied, it is not always possible to get rid of it. In such a circumstances, it is crucial to be self-aware and confident in order to retain our value
There is something that I always say:
Both the people we have around us and the environment we find ourselves in have an effect in the kind of person we become. And yes, it might be difficult to change the environment you are but it is not impossible to leave to a new environment where you will be more valued.

I agree with you and understand the true meaning of your post. I think most of us know about it but when it comes to our real life we feel reluctant to change the environment and suffer for it. It's not so easy to change the environment also even if we are not valued as we need to consider many things for it.
As I always say, anything good doesn't come easy else everyone will be doing it and it will lose its value.
Hence the reason why changing your environment will not come easy.
No doubt environment can either amplifier your value or reduce efficiency for example a zoo lion can ever compare to a lion in the wild because the environment it finds its self has limited its predator abilities because it is always being feed and doesn't have to hunt for its food
