The Chorus To My Happiness : Good old melodies.

in Hive Learners3 months ago

Whenever i take a ride with nephew, I alwsys put on my earphone. The generation alwsys like to put up Sone noisy remixes songs on the across stero, while people inside me loves some soulful music. Music is a great stress deliver and I often like to listen something that gives me peace. However, my nephew is just who puts up rap or some Punjabi song with high. I once asked what the lyrics say and he said that he loves the tunes and beats. He has nothing to do with what the song convey.

Older listeners may perceive new music as meaningless because it doesn't resonate with their personal experiences and the cultural context they grew up with. However still there are certain songs which has no meaning and only build up around few of repetitive words. Modern music often prioritizes easily digestible phrases and catchwords over complex storytelling or meaningful metaphors, leading to lyrics that might seem shallow or repetitive. In todays time, the music industry's focus on quick consumption and viral trends can incentivize artists to create songs designed to be instantly catchy rather than deeply impactful.

Create A Beautiful Symphony

People like me, always like old melodies because they evoke strong feelings of nostalgia, transporting us back to specific times in our life when we first heard the song. Those songs often associated with positive memories, personal experiences, and a sense of cultural connection to the past.
I have found many people of my ages and old generation, dislike today's songs for a variety of reasons, including feeling that the music lacks originality, has repetitive melodies, overly simplistic lyrics, heavy use of autotune, a focus on production over songwriting, and a disconnect with their personal experiences due to the music often being targeted towards younger generations.

Lyrics: The Sweetest Serenade!

Lyrics matter significantly for conveying a good message because they are the words that directly communicate the song's theme, emotions, and ideas to the listener, allowing for a deep connection and potential impact on the audience, whether it be inspiring, motivating, or promoting positive social change; essentially, well-written lyrics can powerfully deliver a meaningful message that resonates with people on a personal level. Some of the examples of meaningful lyrics includes : Lyrics that encourage individuals to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. Music used to raise awareness about important social issues and inspire activism. Songs that highlight the importance of sustainability and protecting the planet.

Lyrics are important because they provide a way for artists to tell a story, express emotions, and connect with listeners on a deeper level by conveying specific thoughts and experiences through words, creating a more meaningful and impactful listening experience beyond just the melody.

Writing meaningful songs can send good messages by using music as a powerful medium to convey positive ideas, inspire action, promote empathy, and connect with listeners on a deep emotional level, potentially influencing their thoughts and behaviors in a positive way. Here are some key ways meaningful songs spread positive messages:

  • Music can evoke strong emotions, allowing songwriters to tap into feelings like hope, love, resilience, and unity, which can resonate deeply with listeners, leaving a lasting impression.

  • By weaving narratives through lyrics, songs can share personal stories that highlight important themes like overcoming adversity, celebrating diversity, or advocating for social justice.

  • Music can reach a wide audience across different demographics, making it a potent tool to disseminate positive messages far and wide.

  • Popular songs can shape cultural conversations and norms, subtly promoting positive values and perspectives.

While there are trends towards simpler music, many contemporary artists still create music with rich lyrics and meaningful themes. Music constantly evolves, and what might seem simplistic today may be considered classic in the future.

Peace!!

Many a time people don't exactly like the song. They just like the tunes and the beats and the vibes exactly like your nephew said and that is where the sanctity of music got lost because it is what the public prefers that the artist will put out there.

Music can be a great way to convey messages and ideas. Those were the means before the pre independence time, but with time everything is losing and so does the charisma of songs.

I too prefer listening to the old songs, they come with a sense of nostalgia. I think many of today's musicians lack originality but there are still the special ones dishing quality music week in week out.

Being influenced with western culture, Indian music industry's is losing it's touch and charisma. It oz more of a noise maker than meaningful vibes.
