The US and their allies had faced one of the uphill task while they were in Afghanistan to capture Osama Bin Laden. It took them 10 years to trace and hunt down the 9/11 mastermind. But in all these times they were unable to gain complete control of Taliban or in Afghanistan. Taliban were very much active in many regions. Once US had their targets finished, the people of Afghanistan again thinking of having a stable government in their country.

US withdrawal from Afghanistan
Afghan Security of Afghanistan government and sending them in the war front. Slowly the NATO allies started taking their forces back. Firstly, in July 2011, Canada withdrew, and after that rest of the NATO countries started reducing their troops and in October 2014, the US and Britain stopped their comrade operation in Afghanistan. It means that whatever operation that will take place in Afghanistan, those would not be lead by US or UK. They will only support and provide assistance to Afghan security forces .US and its Ally countries understood that #Taliban is out of their control, that is why they started a new thing. Instead of sending their soldiers, US troops started training the
Doha Agreement
In 2020 US president Donald Trump offered to talk to Taliban. Taliban accepted the offer and on 29th February 2020, an agreement is signed in Doha. But in this agreement, the government of Afghanistan is kept aside. This agreement is done exclusively between US and Taliban. Some of the major points of this agreement were that NATO will completely withdraw from Afghanistan, Taliban won’t support Al-Qaeda, Taliban will not allow Al-Qaeda to use their land etc.
But many things were kept secret in this agreement, which were not made public. It was not even shared with the Afghanistan government. Later, the Afghanistan government said, that the US and Taliban together must have planned something against that harm them.
After signing this agreement, the US army started withdrawing from Afghanistan, and by August 2021, they entirely left Afghanistan. When all these things were going on Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani fled from the country. The local people remembered the strict Taliban regime, they were scared that now the Taliban would not leave them. Especially those Afghani people who were on the US side or were working together with US. This created a panic in the country, and many started fleeing the country.
We remembered the terrifying visuals from the overcrowded airport and also the falling picture of a man from the aeroplane.
Taliban takeover
On 7th September 2021. Taliban remove the Afghanistan Government, and announces their own government. Mullah Mohammad Hasan announces himself as the Prime Minister and Abdul Ghani Baradar as Deputy Prime Minister. Taliban said multiple times that the people don’t need to be afraid. They will give all the rights to women and won’t kill anyone and don’t keep any strict law.
But as we will see in the latest reports that they are diverging from their words. On September 2021, Taliban said that they will continue to give education to females in Primary schools. But after one months, Taliban bans the girls from attending the secondary schools. In December 2022, Taliban bans higher education of females.
Economic Crisis
Approximately $7 Billion funds of the Afghan Government were frozen in US banks. US government under Biden leadership had done that and did not want to give it back. After which, Afghanistan has been facing serious economic crisis. The crisis is so severe that more then 2 Crore people are not able to get proper food. And approx. 70 Lacs people are at the brink of death due to hunger.

Taliban has not been recognised in any country until now since 2021. Most of the countries of the world said that they will recognise the Taliban Government, when they will form an inclusive government and assure the rights of women and minority.
Currently, the situation in Afghanistan is verry difficult. Humanitarian crisis is increasing and it’s been said that almost 28 million people would need assistance for survival. If situation remain like this and other countries did not help, then the situation might lead to Taliban reuniting with Al-Qaeda. If the situation of Afghanistan is not handled well then it can bring a crisis for the entire world.
We only pray for the wellbeing of the Afghan citizen who has gone through some very difficult time since ages. A country who never settles and always find themselves tangles in different situation. This brought to an end of my independent investigation on Afghanistan. Hopefully I managed to cover all important aspect the country has been gone through.
