Their noise when they are having fun is nothing to write about, especially when they are smoking their substances and exchanging bottles. It isn’t always a good sight to behold for me because they are always noisy, but just like every other people, I am used to it, so it doesn’t even disturb me anymore.
In one of their noisy discussions while they were passing around smoke among themselves, they were trying to convince one of them to smoke with them. He is also a part of them, but maybe he wanted to opt out of the smoking culture while he enjoys other items on the menu, but they convinced him so much that it wasn’t a problem if he smoked too.
“Don’t you see Burna Boy and Wizkid smoke? Do they look anything like sick? If nothing, they look even healthy more than those that are not smoking, so, boy enjoy your life, abeg”. I heard this loud and clear and at some point, I was pushed to look out through the window to see the “boys” talking, and indeed they are very young.
One day, maybe they were high or something, I don’t know, they suddenly started shouting and was trying to harm each other, but for the most mature guy among them, he was able to avert the fight.
Last Saturday, it spiralled out of hand very quickly. It was first a noise of calling each other’s names, and then, it was the sound of falling against the giant iron gate. Before anybody realized what was going on, one of them had been stabbed badly and was already bleeding, however, he wouldn’t give up without inflicting an injury on his fight buddy too, so, he helped himself to a kitchen knife, and then, both of them were down.
They were eventually rushed to the hospital, but then, few hours later, we received the visitors of their gang members in the community for a revenge fight, but God so good, all of them already ran away from home.
One of them got caught by the caretaker of the house, got detained at the police station, yet was released in less than 24 hours. Why? I co-ask.
I think one of the reason violence keeps thriving is because there are some powerful people who are benefitting from the violent mentality of these individuals, and that is why the community cannot completely be rid of them.
The face of the people that hijacked the ballot boxes in the last election in my country is all over the internet, yet no one is talking about arresting them or anything, rather, the peaceful protesters were harassed while the forces protected the thugs that hijacked the protest by introducing violence into it.

I would gladly say that movies contribute to the rising level of violence in the society, however, in real life, there are people who are encouraging them by not punishing those individuals as much as they deserve.
Imagine that the guy whose face is everywhere on the internet for hijacking the peaceful protest was arrested, punished, and jailed, there will be one less violent person in the society, and his gangs will also learn to curb their actions. However, the situation is different. Two days at most, most of them get released, that is, if they were arrested at all.
So, I think, beyond the violent movie scenes, and all, the community needs to do much more to curb the violence.

Yeap. This is next house, and funny is, for the first two months I moved in, they weren't around, so I didn't even suspect anything, until I think the third month, then, they returned. That's how I realized that something's up.
But, it's a relief that they're not in my compound actually, so I have no issues with them at all.
