We all know how social media use to be in the past years when many who were in various platforms never knew that change will one day come through the content they create in the social media. In fact many of the users in the past years I could say just join social media to have an online friends, chat with them, while others post various pictures of outfits like in the Instagram. I could say that sometimes you even have to pay 💰 some money to some of the platforms to promote your businesses or promote you for people to see you online .
People who join platforms like Facebook then was just there for chatting with friends, while many who lost contacts with friends due to relocation, lost of contact and throw back era when technology was not accessible to many used the opportunity of the this platform to tried looking for their contacts for reconnecting. It was indeed a place of just having fun 🤩 in the past years.
And this prompt brought me back some memories of the years that are passed because as a millennium brought up we never had the opportunity of easy communication with friends. Then while working 9:00 🕘 to 5:00 🕔, we usually just use the telecommunications that was established by the then government, where all telephones are being controlled by the government sectors and there was nothing like social media. But then the change began suddenly in this era of 21st century.
This era is a boom era through social media. An era that has made social media a business of its own , where people are making money 💰 creating and posting various contents online. All these changes I see as what innovation has brought to this era. And the change will continue because the world 🌍 is moving at a very fast pace, people who are smart also moving with the change like how social media is monetizing its content creators.
Monetization Of Social Media Best Thing Ever:
Content creators making money 💰 from what they do on social media called monetization is one thing I see as an opportunity for many youths or as many who do believe they can create something reasonable online that can generate income. People do not see the hard part and hard work many of this content creators go through to be able to reach some certain level before monetization. They just do believed many are making money just creating contents, but lack the knowledge of the effort these people put in order to start earning money online.
I have many of these content creators as friends or from families and I know what they go through before reaching monetization level either in YouTube or the crazy 😝 TikTok. I tell you that many of these content creators even spend so much of their own fund and time before finally getting to the monetization time. This means monetization does not just comes easily but must surely come if you are consistent and provides unique and tangible content. Although many others can be lucky with the kind of contents they provide online for people to see, read, admire before they even like and follow you. But many who are in some other areas of content creating might find it so hard before getting to monetization.
But for me I see monetization as pay for efforts these people put. And another, an opportunity provided by these platforms to help as many who can provide the quality of content they are looking for because every of this content has to be evaluated especially when it comes to YouTube platform that needs quality content for people to watch it. And apart for these opportunities, the platforms of the social medias are also making their own money and name as people keep using them. This however is seen as 50 - 50 share percentage. But in all they have helped so many people to elevate in lifestyle by providing this monetization opportunity through these jobs opportunities because many who could not acquire office job are all happy today because of social media.
Pushing The Limit:
I see nothing wrong with social media being a place where people can share pictures, create fashion outfits, blog, sing 🎶 and even dance 💃. These are why the platforms were made available. The only problem we have with social media and monetization is how loud many people has become in what they do online. Many are pushing over the limit because of how money 💰 being monetization has become the end output.
Monetization of content creating has changed too many things. People are just doing all kinds of things to be in the social media, even some of those that looks disgusting in order to get views or go viral because of money. What they do not know is that information takes years to fade away, and some stick to hunt you later in years. Boys will become men and girls women, so we just need to be careful on what we put out there because of money 💴 because social media is the world 🌍.

It's true that this change has opened doors for many talented people who couldn't find space in the traditional market. But it's also important to reflect on the limits and responsibilities that come with this kind of exposure

Monetization is great and a source of empowerment but I want to believe people especially Nigerians are going about it the wrong way.
