The great mothers are not the happiest...
They are the ones that sacrifice their own happiness so their children can be happy...
They are not the most fulfilled... They give up on their own dreams to make ours their reality...
They give up on their comfort so we won't be in pain... They go hungry so we won't starve...
The value of a great mother can't ever be emphasized enough.
I feel the greatness of having a mother...
The Hive community is a great observation of what a great mother can mean...
Even though I'm yet to know most of you guys personally, you have been so nice to me ever since my onboarding on this great platform...
Morals begin at home they say and I must commend our mothers for they are the ones responsible for everything concerning that, while our fathers are away hunting for provisions...
The Hive Community is valid proof that every mother is great and I must really commend you guys for upholding the morals.
We had options to be stray and be wayward but we stand by our mothers' values and not just the societies...
Even though we are adults (most of us are) with the awareness that we've got our choices and options, we often find ourselves in situations where we must succumb to our mothers' wants.
It must have been really hard on us, but still, we persevered.
Our happiness has been their utmost concern and even if I chose to be sad for some reason, I'd rather be happy for my mother today and every other day...
We were being cared for even when we had no knowledge of whom we were going to be... right from the womb, till birth... right from infancy till puberty when they had to take and tolerate each of our bullsh*ts...
Motherhood is a different feeling and I really can't understand what the feelings can be. For real, no child can. You can only try...
Right now as I'm typing I'm being remembered the pains I've put my mother through consciously and unconsciously and my fingers become so numb...
Am I being over-emotional? Damn! There are many things I should be writing but this feeling is giving me a writing block and pardon me if I don't say enough at the end...
If at this point you don't understand the role a mother can play in every society, try and look into every peaceful and upright home...
Despite being happy on a day like this, I've got mixed feelings...
About what?
I'm a bit concerned about who are going to be the mothers of our unborn children...
Will our children be so proud of their mothers? Will the intended mothers uphold the same morals they are being nurtured?
The more I feel the girls of this current generation are much more self-centered and entitled in miles compared to our mothers, the more I fear for our own children...
I dared to be wrong and I will urge you guys to even be better than our mothers, which I don't think will be possible...
but impossibility does not exist, not even on Hive, so I'm counting on you all.
I have a task for all of us...
Here is a simple exercise:
Got off your own head...
Yes, stop thinking about what to do to make her happy and pick up your phone...
If you are currently with your mother or not, pick up your phone...
First, text her with romantic lines as you do with your boyfriend or girlfriend or whatever...
Then call her and sing to her... While doing so, remind her of one of your naughtiest times with her...
Pray for her and if your Dad is around, instruct him to take good care of your mother on this special day on your behalf.
Basically, every child should do this every day (they love it) but we are too carried away in this electronic world and no one is really to be blamed for that...
Despite this, take this day to your advantage... It's the least you can do...
To the mothers that are gone...
Being a child that grew up with a single mother, not by the death of my father but through a divorce, I know what the pain of separation can be and I don't wish it on anybody...
I was around 11 years of age when they separated...
Sure, the separation affected me in some ways, but I love both of my parents and I still wish they didn't separate...
Even though I was living with my mother, my Dad didn't shy of his duties as a father. He was the one taking care of my school fees and other miscellaneous.
Unlike every other child in the neighborhood that had no option but to attend public/government schools, I was enrolled in paid private schools, from the nursery level to primary until high school...
You can't imagine how huge that can be in a country I live in...
Eventually, after 2 years of my admission into the University, I lost my dad... I missed him, a lot.
For an old mother without a salary-based job with a kid at the University, I understand it wasn't an easy ride.
She bore every responsibility. Even though she is a very hardworking mother, I can't imagine how hard it must be for her...
Rather than feeling sad, I should be grateful that she's still holding on and being happy for my existence.
I pray for her every time that she should live longer than she has ever lived... That the rest of her days should be longer on the earth...
I'm using this moment to console every orphan and those that are no more with their loved ones... Don't be hard on yourself.
They loved you and they want the best for you. I'm sure if they had a second chance, they will choose you again and again and again and again...
Be happy for their sake. Share the great moments you had with them with your friends and associates. They love you.
You should be aware that not anything else makes our mothers happy, but their children's happiness.
To every mother reading this... You are celebrated and don't stop being the apple of our eyes. No love can rival a mother's love. It's eternal.
To every mother out there... We love you and you deserve the best!
PS: Every day should be for mothers, so celebrate them...

Happy Mothers Day!
Every mother deserves some love as you said. They really tried for us with the morals they imbibed in us. I really do appreciate them and hope the next generation of mothers would be better and not go astray.
Great read friend!
I so really hope. Thanks for reading 😊
