What Ifs...

in Hive Learners2 days ago

Ever had a mind-blowing idea, a strong desire, or a big dream that excited you, but then while on your bed, you hear a whisper in your ear just a gentle whisper, asking just a question and leaving you to fill in the blanks. What if......?

What if I fall?
What if people laugh at me?
What if I'm not good enough?
What if things don’t go as planned?

The question of "what if" is a constant thought you ask yourself every step of the way and to some, it has always been a silent dream killer. This question is always a result of fear and doubt which is 100% natural but when left uncontrolled, they can bring anybody down whether they have a foolproof plan or not.

The FEAR of failure is one of the biggest reasons people abandon their dreams. Instead of seeing failure what not see it as a lesson instead. History has proven otherwise so many times. Let us check out people that didn't let the fear of failure take them down. And yes, they actually failed.

We all know the famous Thomas Edison, who failed many times before perfecting the light bulb. Imagine if he had given up after asking "What if I never get it right"?

What about Oprah Winfrey, who was fired from a news anchor job early in her career. If she had let "What if I'm not good enough?" stop her, she wouldn’t have become a global media icon.

Lastly, Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team. If he had given in to "What if I’m not meant for this?" he wouldn’t have become a legend.

If all this people and others had let the question get to them, I don't think we currently be hearing of them. The truth is, most people don’t fail, they simply just quit before they even try because if a dream was actually something you want to do, giving up at the first trail is not going to even cross your mind.

I was watching a documentary of Space X and how hundreds of rockets kept on exploding over and over again. Some didn't even take off as they fell flat on the ground upon launch. Thosands of dollars wasted and years of hard work wasted, so many tears shed but I don't think he thought of all those or let them weigh on him. Istead, he must used them as a stepping stone.

The writer who never publishes because What if no one reads it or in our case, no one upvotes?

The entrepreneur who never starts a business because What if I lose money?

The artist who never shares their work because What if people don’t like it?

The sure result is definitely a lifetime of regrets and ancertatity of what could have happened.

How can I get passed the thoughts?
The thought of"what if" is something you wonn't be able to prevent from coming to the head when pursuing something. The best thing to do is turning it around. What I do is turn it to a weapon. Let the fear guild you to make positive thoughts.

What if I succeed beyond my wildest dreams?
What if people love what I create?
What if this opportunity changes my life?
What if I fix this problem with my idea?
What if @lazy-panda, @appreciator or any other whale like your post and gives you a nice upvote.🫣🫣🫣

As I conclude, I will love to ask you this question, 5 years from today, would you rather say I tried and failed or I never tried at all?
Fear is constant but it is up to you to get rid of it because it is truly someone that is actually without fear that achieves anything and everything.

I leave you with one of my fav quote, "you are not a failure because you fell, you are a failure if you refuse to get back up"
