To me nick name is one's identity, many might not know you by your real name but by your nick name. I'm not into nick name stuffs but they gave me different names through my name... my name is loveth uchechi some call me love, lovely, lovi lovi, UC, uchenna, yori- yori.
Through out my primary school days my classmates and class teacher uncle Emmanuel do call me lovi- lovi initially I wasn't comfortable with the change of name but with time I got used to it, infact the more i tell them i don't like it they tease me more with it.
How I got the name yori-yori?
The love song yori yori was sung by two popular Nigerian artists name bracket in 2009 ever since then my elder sister calls me yori to yori as a pet nick name lolz till today she still sees me as that baby sister of hers hahaha...the uchenna name, my aunty and my elder sister still calls me by that name till date may be because I bears thesame name with my aunt I heard from my mom among my siblings I'm her beat she sees more of herself in me may be that is why she named me uchenna.
The name LOVE was given to me through my name loveth when I was schooling in polytechnic they said is the shortcut of loveth I still prefer love among all my nick names because loveth and love are thesame meaning the T.H actually means nothing, To me loveth and love any one is okay by me.
The U.C name actually very few people call me by that name like my sister-in-law nkemakonam...she always calls me by that name to me I feel special anytime she calls me by that name...nick names are unique I can accept it if is nice and has a good meaning.
I once asked my mom why did you gave me the name loveth she said is a very nice name and she really loves the name she said is all about love...I love the name too, people portray behavior by the name given to them. since love is all about intense affection and care, may be that's why I love people and always wish to see everyone happy and smiling if only is possible.
In Africa we are careful of the names we give our children because we believe it speaks more of themselves in future in terms of their destiny. We strongly believe if a child is prospering is base on their names and if the person is suffering is also base on their names so we always choose wisely in that aspect in giving a positive names. My mom once told me she had to change her English name to blessing because her previous name doesn't have a good meaning.
My daily wish is to be so wealthy to help many souls out there especially homeless people, to give them scholarships, help in medical bills and to provide shelter, clothing and food. If only is possible to take away the world's problems hummm... helping humanity is a goal for me no matter how little.

In my culture also it is believed that our names have an impact on us. That’s why a care is taken while naming.
