Digitisation, bad or good, is inevitable now. Just like a necessary evil, we neither deny its importance nor ignore its implications. In this highly digitized century, where from communication to business and to jobs and services, everything has been digitized, and the nature of relationships has also changed. Due to wider connections, the interaction level has also widened. Today, there is no need to visit places or go to markets to interact with people. Sitting on your bed you can access anyone outside your area, region, country, or continent. With the speed everything is digitizing, I guess we will soon become able to talk to aliens as well. Lolz😂
Well, even in the real world though we interact physically and can analyze people well from their actions and gossip still we are deceived. Even in the real world deception exists then the relation of the digital world will be very deceptive because there we cannot even look at their actions. Mostly, we know them by what they tell in the form of texts. It is like idealizing one’s personality through letters a few decades before. And this is why people are more vulnerable to online deceits and heartbreaks. Apart from other cybercrimes, this falls into cheating rather than scamming.
As I have mentioned earlier digitization is inevitable and we cannot stop this from happening and expanding further so we must adopt a protective approach by forming a shield around ourselves. We will have to adjust to the same world. With a precautionary approach, we can better adjust ourselves. By maintaining a healthy distance and preventing over-indulgence, we can protect ourselves from emotional breakdowns because we have seen many cases when people start feeling much about others, and in the end, they are just left alone or cheated.
Along with this, oversharing should also be prevented. Due to emotional attachment or financial compulsions, we overshare our details and the chances of their misuse are increased. So sharing must be avoided. Not everyone deserves our details. We must set a boundary line between ourselves and others and this is how we can also reduce the chances of cheating and fraud. Knowing much about others with whom you are sharing your stuff also gives you an equal hand.
My POV:
I have been very lucky in this perspective. The people I met online were just amazing. A very special sort of bond formed with them. There are many online friends of mine. And by respecting the privacy and dignity of each other, we share a very benign and compassionate bond. This is because we avoid over-asking, overindulgence, and over-interference in the life of each other. Those bonds are just to delight moods and express feelings whenever gloom hits you.
But I strongly recommend everyone to respect their privacy. Now one should be allowed in from a distinct boundary line. The limits must be set and known from both sides. Through this, the evil of digital world can be circumvented.
