For me personally, music has, through the years, always been a source of not just inspiration, but also that of comfort that goes on to help me sail through life's twists and turns. Music has this unexplainable magical touch that literally gets you lost in a song, probably because it resonates with your state at the moment or something you're hoping it, It's an intriguing effect that still gets me wondering how exceptional it has been to just me but many others who have seen music as a safe haven to run to to help salvage the situation we're going through within our minds and then come out healed and ready to face them head-on in the physical realm.
I'm a big fan of music, and although I enjoy different genres of music, it's worth noting that my choice each time is usually a reflection of my present state of mind or the emotions I'm going through at the moment. At some point in time, what I need could be something soft and calm to quiet down the noise life presents, and on such moments I usually run to genres such as gospel or soul music, with artists such as Shola Allyson, Asa, and Omah Lay coming through with their melodious voices to save the day.
On other days, what I crave and need is an upbeat track that I can groove to, which would go on to reignite my energy or get me in the mood for partying or celebrations. In such situations, I've also got artists who get me in such a mood, and some of them are Olamide, Lil Wayne, Ayo Maff, and the likes, but then overall, regardless of the tempo and genre, one thing is constant, and that's the incredibility of music and its capacity to resonate with my mind and connect me to the present.
So in light of that, I have once written here before that my favorite artist of all time is a Yoruba gospel singer who goes by the name Shola Allyson. She's a woman whose song I've grown to be fond of right from my teenage days when she first released her first singles. She has been in the music industry for about 22 years now. and I'm a big fan of all her music, but one of my favorite songs that gets me in that state of being portrayed in this episode prompt is one of the ones she released to commemorate her 20 years on stage that was released in the year 2023.
The title of the song is Igba iranwo, meaning time to help or time for help. This is so much love, and I literally get carried away with the whole listening to it because it sometimes transcends me to a state of deep thoughts that leaves me standing in awe as I reflect on how far I've come in life, the challenges I've overcome, the setbacks I've had, and several others to name but a few, and even though no help showed forth, I kept on forging forward till I arrived at where I am today.
The music itself is more like a call to action to not only reflect on past victories and setbacks but also to be optimistic that help is coming and that it'll surely come. It's an encouragement message and a charge that instills me with the confidence that if she can overcome all that she went through, being a child from a broken home who isn't wanted by both her dad and mum, and yet she grew up to become who she's today, listening to this song keeps my hope alive and gives me assurance that help will come that will pull me out of the tangle trap I find myself in and that my story will, just like hers, end well.
Igba Iranwo by Shola Allyson is a very powerful song that I don't joke with; in fact, you'll hardly see a day when I'm playing music and not play it, meaning I can listen to it over and over again without growing tired. In fact, for better understanding, I'm playing the song and putting it on repeat as I'm writing this particular writeup, and the reason for this can't be farfetched because it carries the message of hope, divine intervention, and assurance that there are better days ahead; the song speaks directly to my soul, and that's why I'm always lost in it while listening, because its lyrics remind me to stay strong in the face of life's challenges that can be overwhelming; in a nutshell, it's a soulful masterpiece sung by Shola Allyson.

You're right and it's one of the things that keep us going.
Yes dear it is
Musics indeed come through for us in various moods we are in...
I also love gospel musics but just the calm ones which is so difficult for me to find as most of them keep "shouting" on top of their voices, lol.
Was surprised I don't know your favourite artist but listening to the one song you sent explained it... She uses Yoruba often and since I don't understand the language, it makes sense.
And yes, I also did continue playing my song till I was done, lol
I'm truth music is a great force that impacts our lives in diverse ways.
She's a great musicians and it's understandable you don't understand her message due to the language barrier.
Do have a wonderful day and stay bless.
Thank you fam
I love music like this, which is not just a melancholic reflection, but which encourages us to think in a healthy and constructive way. I even have some that help me withstand physical pressure. It's incredible what music helps us feel.
Music is actually a safe heaven for some of us over the years because you can't just face the troubles in this life all alone.
