Something worth changing.

Traveling back in time is one superpower I wish I had. Growing up, I was a big fan of superpower movies; after seeing such movies, I would imagine myself possessing my favorite superpower, and that is "Time travel." I think it is amazing that someone could travel back in time and prevent a particular event from happening. These time travelers are always faced with a bigger consequence after the event is being carried out. Everything has a positive and negative impact, that's why the "coin has two sides."

Deep down inside of me, I want to go back in time and prevent a tragic moment from happening in my family. Often, I ask myself questions like "What would life have been if this person was present?" Would it have made any difference from the way things are, or is the absence something even better? I believe everything has a reason for its occurrence, and some things can't be changed even though they hurt the heart badly. So I don't think I'm gonna travel back in time to change anything about my personal life and certain decisions I've made so far, I'm gonna say "My life is in order" What I tend to avoid is making more mistakes, that's why I engage my mind into thorough river of thoughts before making any decision.

Now back to the question of discussion:

I don't know if this is the future the people from my part of the nation saw some years back. Everyone keeps praying for a better nation; I can remember every morning devotion, we'd ensure to put the nation into prayer so things can get better. With what is happening in my nation right now, "I don't know if our prayers are going elsewhere" instead of the right place.

No one can come out and be like, "This is the Nigeria I dreamt of some years back. "No one expected things to happen this way, it felt more like they took us by surprise, and we are still living in that surprise they've created for us.

If I could change one event from the past that has brought my country into the tragedy it is today: It would be the removal of the fuel subsidy, since the removal of the fuel subsidy, my nation hasn't been the same. The citizens of my nation are going through hell. "Sorry to use that H word." Currently, the prices of items in my nation have skyrocketed to something else, thereby making citizens unable to afford three meals a day (this is not the Nigeria we imagined).

People aren't smiling, if you walk on the streets today, everybody is lamenting one thing or the other.

I've just realized that the price of petrol affects every other thing in a nation, ranging from goods and every other thing you could think of, including transportation. "Now this particular part is affecting me badly." I would go back in time to maintain the fuel subsidy that wasn't removed, so the activities in my nation can go back to normal "though it isn't guaranteed" but then the suffering wouldn't have increased to this level.

Thanks for reading 🧡

Great point to be observed, fuel really affects the price of all other products, and it is a great incompetence on the part of the leaders not to see this, especially since the entire population is aware of the consequences this brings to the country's economy.

I just found out about it recently when my nation's subsidy was removed, inflation has been on the drastic rise.

It's quite dishearting that our leaders don't think about the repercussions of something before doing it, now see the mess we are in because of the removal of the fuel subside.

Yeah! Imagine the prices of items growing every day, then transportation. They should just put it back if it's possible.

It is sad to see how people we trust with our lives to lead the course of a brighter future decide to take the opposite direction.

Yeah! Imagine where the country is today. It's very disheartening.
