Life is beautiful, and this beautiful thing we call life has its ups and downs; certain things happen in this life that are beyond our control, while some are controllable.
The opposite of things will always come while we try to focus our attention on the positive parts only. So the opposite of love is "hate". In my part of the world, when you say you hate someone, people tend to tag it as being too harsh, and they'd advise you to use the word dislike instead of going all out in telling someone that you hate them. So, in my part of the world, when someone says they dislike someone, it simply means they hate that person but just use the word dislike to make it look a little cool.
Since the opposite of love is hate, you'd always have people who hate you just the way you have people who love you; the two come hand in hand. And if you think you can avoid being hated then you are wrong "so wrong" because even when Christ came to earth and died for our sins, people still hated him for dying "like why would they even do that" Well, that is the world we live, people will never be satisfied with whatever you are doing even those that are saying "aww I love this about you" might still hate behind your back and be tarnishing your reputation.
And you know what happens when our reputation is being tarnished outside, the public looks at us with some sort of bombastic side eye without knowing the true us "That's the world for us" The people out there don't care about the truth, all they care about is what they've heard from the hater and whatever you "the person involved" has to say doesn't matter at all.
My reputation is my image; my reputation is "me," and ruining my reputation in public is like bringing damage to my life, it's more like causing harm to me. Do you know what it means when someone hates you? "They disperse you"? It means they can also kill you if it demands that "so it's like putting our lives at risk," or they can give you out to people who are trying to kill you.
I think hateful speech isn't a problem because everyone is eligible for freedom of speech, but when it goes beyond just being a speech and grows to an action performed, it becomes a crime that is punishable by law. People can do terrible things when they hate someone.
I can remember back then in junior secondary school, I had this classmate who didn't want to see me even in the blink of an eye, sometimes I would just be and think of what I'd done wrong, no matter how hard I tried to disturb my brain in bringing those ideas, the harder I try I realized nothing was coming. But this classmate at the other was busy saying terrible things about me to the other classmates; often, I would enter the class and notice everyone staring at me like I killed someone.
One fateful day. I couldn't take it any longer so I decided to confront her, and after that, I reported her to the school authorities. And after that day, she took a break from that act; I don't know if she started hating in secret, though, "that I can't tell."
I used to see hatred as a normal emotion, but when it persists into something offensive, then legal action should taken to stop it.

The meaning I started to careless about what people thing about me either good or bad was when I started prioritizing myself and life decision over anything because either way, you will still be loved and hated... We can care less about what people say behind our backs to tarnish our image, but when it gets extreme, I think an action should be taken.

Yes, I love the last statement. People will always talk and say hateful speech, that's okay but when it gets to the extent of tarnishing our images or becoming extremely offensive, then taking legal actions isn't bad.
