Would it be a good idea to make medical checkups compulsory? Great idea but Hell no! Except it's absolutely free of course.
Like, just imagine it. If mandatory check-ups could be made compulsory, like a driver's license in a country where everyone drives. Or the taxes and bills. It's like enforcing a rule telling everyone “Hey, remember you must go across the room and get that sweet cookie that you like"
I mean, that idea is a really good one. But it will need a couple tweaks to make it perfect.
To be sincere it's a great idea. Just envision it. The amount of lives it will save would be great. All those people who work too much and forget or neglect their health.
In my country, although almost everyone knows the saying “health is wealth", they do the exact opposite. Putting every other thing before health.
There are many advantages of Compulsory Check-Ups
Early Disease Detection: Regular checkups help identify diseases like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension before they become severe. Many have died because they were too late. Early detection even saves costs; when some diseases and conditions are detected early, they can be treated early before they become worse and more expensive to handle.
Public Health Benefits: A healthier population means fewer outbreaks, less strain on hospitals, and better workforce productivity.
Mental Health Awareness: The most ignored. Many people ignore mental health issues, and mandatory check-ups could ensure more people receive help. Mental health care would affect many things in the country, the governing system itself, the economy, and every other aspect of life.
General health awareness: many people don't know the basic things or the importance of health because there is no push to get these check-ups. Creating a compulsory check-up system would make people know that—yes, for it to be compulsory it has to be important.
With all these enticing advantages mentioned, of course, I wouldn't fail to give you the reason my answer was a straight-up hell no!
Financial Burden: Healthcare can be expensive, and forcing checkups might hurt low-income families.
Personal Freedom & Privacy: Some might argue that mandatory checkups violate individual rights.
Enforcement Challenges: How would governments monitor compliance? Would it be fair to fine or jail non-compliers?
A solution to this would be to make these check-ups free. If they are free then the poor wouldn't worry about cost.
But of course, we still have people who don't deem it important to do a check-up or forget to take these check-ups.
That is when we bring in employers or schools requiring proof of checkups without legal penalties. This will make it more friendly and serve as a reminder too.
Awareness campaigns can encourage voluntary participation.
In short, the only problem I see with this wonderful idea of “compulsory medical check-ups" with punishment for failure to do so is the cost, legal penalties, and unawareness.
Get those three obstacles out of the way, and we are good to go.
So, do you still think it would be a good idea to make medical checkups mandatory?
If you do, then I am all ears and ready to be convinced.
You are so right, it is not a bad idea but then what are the measures put in place to have a smooth run
Yh
for here? it's just not possible unfortunately
😂😂😂 that's why my answer is hell no.
I trust my politicians to make a means to use it and reap us.
