How's it going, flower lovers and greenthumbs. As the end of summer and the harvest nears, here is an update on what's happening in the my flower garden.
A massive year for the sunflowers. This one over 8 feet tall! An heirloom that's been through 4 seasons now and only growing stronger. We'll have plenty of seeds for roasting too.
The dahlias always provide great colour, sadly, I seem to be down a couple of varieties this year though. They're all short this year as well. I think the record heat was a bit much for them especially since they live in 3-5 gallon pots.
"New" addition - marigolds. Never a flower I was really interested in(everybody has had marigolds), they seem to be flourishing with the regular feedings my other plants get. I'll be keeping seeds for next year for sure!
The last of my day lilies along with an unknown addition. I have successfully split this plant into 8 so far.
I'll close with a wide shot of my flower section. Thanks for reading and following along. I'll have an update on my fruit and vegetable harvest coming in the next few days.
