An exercise in futility.
By July my gardens are way beyond my control.
The competition rages while I stand on the sidelines to document its unfolding:o
This is Campanula glomerata. It's common names are clustered bellflower or Dane's blood
Here they are in action with the yellow helliopsis and roses in the background.
Course the roses are too pretty to just play a supporting role.
And the beautiful wild day lilies (Hemerocallis fulva) are certainly no strangers to competition.
I remember them lining the roads everywhere around here, but now they mow them down and other weeds have taken their place:(
But, on a brighter note, a few more shots of miscellaneous spots here and there that I just wanted to share:)
On the left is the brightly beautiful rose campion. On the right is a black eyed susan, (Rudbeckia hirta)
This mix includes white malva, ox eye daisies and sweet peas.
More roses with the always-able-to-hold its own hydrangea.
And lots of lavender backed against the wall.
And that's it for today's tour. Thanks so much for coming:)
And thank you to @dswigle, the fearless leader of our #alwaysaflower community.❤️
This is explosive color!!!!
I love it when a garden is allowed to do its thing. It is absolutely splendid-looking with everything overlapping the other! I truly love it. You step back and take a gander!
Those day-lilies, my father always called them ditch lilies because that is where we found them on the side of the road. In the ditches. LOL I have tons of them and keep splitting them! Need more? LOL
Thank you for showing off your beauty! It was a real treat for me! Thank you for being a part of #alwaysaflower!

Yes, it's explosive in so many ways:D
I'm so glad you enjoy its craziness. What it lacks in formality it makes up for with enthusiasm:)
Ditch lilies...hmmm...sounds like your Dad called it like it was but maybe lacked your poetic style.
But you want a trick for dealing with them? I cut the bottom out of a big pot or growing container and dig it into the ground and then fill it with dirt. When I plant the lilies in the buried pot, they get all the benefits of being planted directly in the ground, but aren't able to spread. How's that for a good trick?
I do owe you a trick;)
Thanks again for your support and for creating a community where I get to share my gardens with other flower heads. (That's what my husband calls me when maybe I share too much with him.)
Oh, I really like that trick! I have done that with other flowers, I do not know why I didn't think of it for bulbs!!! It really is pretty smart! Oh, second hand, I am not right. I put the whole pot. I don't cut out the bottom (they are usually a plant that I need to bring in the house for the winter)
I am going to try your method and see how it works for me! Thank you again. And yes!!! I love your garden! It is truly beautiful and is a happy place to stroll.
Have a great day!

Love it, what a beautiful garden you have!
Your garden is my type of garden-free range and happy! 😀
I hope that they all keep flourishing in harmony together for you so all you have to do is be their friend and not their foe...
I'm sorry to take so long to thank you for your nice comment. It's always nice to meet others that understand the true nature of flowers, wild and free!
Gardening for me is always a labor of love, just wish there was more time in the day!
Thank you (belatedly) for checking out my post:)
It was my pleasure, so thank you.
I look forward to my photos of your free range babies. 😀
