Hello lovely Hiveans !
Today I want to publish my first post into the Aquatic Sentinels Community, that was recently founded by @juanbg. It is dedicated to sharing the beauty, diversity and science of our aquatic/marine ecosystems and everything related to it 🐳🐬 and the community is a member in the big DNA family too ... I may not be a marine photographer and cant provide qualitative scientific information about our marine friends, but I am a really huge admirer of the ocean. When I was younger I spent at least one holiday per year at the ocean site, mostly at the North Sea in Germany or in the Netherlands at the rim of the Atlantic Ocean. My today's post will be dedicated to the sea 🌊
The Hypnotizing and Meditative Effect of the Sea
Every single time I stand at the sea and watch into the distance of the ocean I get directly calmed down and after a few minutes I am already captured in a deep meditative and hypnotizing mood ^^ .. Its hard to explain, but everyone who loves the ocean as I do will understand this feeling. Its a mixture of all the different impressions that conquer all your senses simultaneously.
It is the fresh and salty smell that fill out your whole breathing system and purify it.
It is the movement of the waves which continuously reach out to you and withdraw, which they seem to do simultaneously all the time and which becomes so hypnotizing.
It is the sounds of these exact waves in really relaxing rhythm, which overlay with the constant background noise of the wind.
It is this exact wind which you feel on your skin all the time and grants you this feeling of absolute freedom.
It is just all of these impressions that tackle all your senses and transfer you into a meditative world, which then feels just soo beautiful, so amazing, soo .. soo 😍 ... I just cant find the suiting word here ^^ !
There is No Sleep More Relaxing as Sleep at the Sea
The meditative effect of the sea in combination with the astonishing quality of the air is highly productive when it comes to the sleeping quality at the sea. I already spend many nights within the dunes in little Biwak camps. Actually, most often Biwaks were just excuses as a sleepover in the dunes was intention, hehe. But every time I woke up the next day I was completely refreshed to the bones. I know no other place where to wake up so relaxed as at the dunes at the ocean. Even a little nap works wonders 😁
Barefoot in the Sand and Sea
I recently read in a post from @qwerrie about standing barefoot in the grass on the meadow and directly thought that I would love to do it too, while concentrating on the feeling it creates as I never tried this out actively .. But when it comes to the sand and the sea I am actually always barefoot ^^ .. Walking on sand, a surface that constantly reshapes with every single step is already an amazing experience and it feels really great. Sometimes there are muscles too around which create another great experience ... but standing directly in the see, where each wave covers your feet and where the sand is swept away below your feet, leaving them to sink slowly into the ground, is far more intense. It is an experience everyone should allow himself at least once. Even our little feathered friends love it while searching for something tasty to feed on 😉
First Contact with the Sea
Some years ago, when my son was 2 years old, we went on a family vacation to the Netherlands. There he experienced the beauty of running over the beach. It was so nice to see him having fun the whole day. During this day he also took my wife by the hand and proudly showed her his his amazing discovery, the ocean. They then established first contact with the Atlantic Ocean, It was so nice to watch and after taking these documentary pictures we enjoyed the water even more 😁
Various Forms and Shapes
Also it may appear that the ocean looks the same every time, it is a place that is unique on every visit. Not only is every beach an individual place itself, but depending in the weather conditions and the time of visit it shows a completely different face, or lets say phase to us ^^
.. The sea knows different tides. One day it can feature small waves and the next day they grow to gigantic stormy waves .. beaches can be nice and covered with warm sand and before you notice they are partially flooded, full of muscles and more .. The whole ocean can create every possible feeling, from relaxing harmony to a deep intimidation .. It is in-tameable and moody, as well as captivating and full of blissful harmony at the same time ... just like a good wife 🤣

Very nice tribute to the sea and its magical powers :) It has the same effects on me too. I have been kind of fascinated by the sea since I was a little kid and I will be always be grateful for all the time (whole years, actually) that I could spend living by the sea...
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 8/88) Liquid rewards.
Thank.you @phortun ^^ .. several years at the sea must have been an amazing time 😃 .. I am a fan of mountains and forests too, but the sea is kind of super special and so recreational 😉
Yeah, I love mountains and forests too of course. Like every nature lover, I guess ;) There are places in the world where you can actually have all of this. Mother Nature was very generous and creative ;)
A wonderful article there @adalger .
I know when I'm near the sea, I feel so much healthier-- body and mind and it is so naturally inspiring to make me get even healthier too.
I know that walking or atleast rubbing your bare feet around on grass makes headaches go away...I have personally experienced that many times myslelf and I'm sure if I looked back, I would probably say the same things for feet on the sand.
Thanks for the visit @chocolatescorpi ^^ .. one simply can't resist to get healthy from the magic of the whole ambiente 😂 .. I still plan to experience the feet on the grass one day, perhaps I try it when I get a headache too 😅
Yes, magic is everywhere but unfortunately there are only some people that can recognise it.
Please rub your feet in green grass- preferably thick and even damp. And that is true magic too.
Hehe, the next time Inam on a big Hike and rest at a beautiful place for enjoying my surroundings I will remember to try it out, hehe 😄
I have to agree with you about the sea, the rhythm is so very mesmerizing, lulling you into a wonderfully meditative state. I grew up on the East Coast of New England, Connecticut in particular, and the sea and salt always gave a fully restful night's sleep. There is just something about it that brings you there after a day in the salt and sand. (that is every day if you live on the water!)
I live in the Washington, DC area right now and when I go home, I roll my windows down to take in the salty sea air and inhale deeply, letting it course through my entire system. It is only then, I realize what I have been missing. That piece of the puzzle. The tranquility of the sea.
Oh, she is untamable, but, who would want to? One of her best features is she knows just what you need.
This was a wonderfully refreshing post! Taking it home with me, so I too, can share the beauty. Have a wonderful day!
I am glad you liked it @dswigle ^^ .. you were lucky to be able to inhale the sea back in conecticut ! .. if you grew up like this it must be such a pity that from one day to another it cut away from your life .. maybe one day you will be able to move closer to the sea? .. at least whenever you get back home you are welcomed with a great and fresh air environment ^^
I bought a house on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (on the Peninsula north of Virginia Beach) and it suffices all the angst of not living in Connecticut. :) It is a short ride there from the house in the Washington, DC Metro area.
And so so worth it!
Beautiful post @adalger! You have made me remember how my passion for the sea began and how beautiful the landscapes are to enjoy, even without having to be in the water you can already contemplate a beautiful view. Our ocean is another world!😍🐬
Thanks a lot 🤗 .. the ocean is another world indeed.. a fascinating one which still is there to be discovered fully .. they are probably the last places left on earth where big adventures and discoveries can be done .. thee must been outstanding things down their in it deeps which are simply amazing, but still hiding well from us 😃
