IniciativaGracias a mi amiga @actioncats, que me informo e invito a participar en esta interesante , donde podemos contribuir al conocimiento a las personas, de este bello animal y aprovechando que la maravillosa comunidad de #aquaticsentinels, pone a nuestra disposición esta bella propuesta, invito a mis amigas @annafenix, @devania,@popurri, @evev a sumarse a esta iniciativa en favor de estos hermosos animalitos.
La vaquita marina es un mamífero marino, es uno de los cetáceos mas pequeños del mundo, con ciertas semejanzas con los delfines, pero que se diferencia de ellos, por sus colores grises en la parte del lomo gris oscuro, por los costados gris claro y blanco por su vientre, además de que tienen la peculiaridad de tener los ojos y boca con manchas negras y que son mucho mas pequeños que los delfines, teniendo mas o menos una longitud en hembras de 1.5 y en machos 1.4. Vienen de la familia de las marsopas.
Esta es originaria o endémica de México. Su hábitat esta protegido entre las Islas y Áreas Protegidas del Golfo de California. No les gusta las aguas muy frías y casi siempre se mantienen relativamente en aguas pocas profundas y donde el agua sea turbia, ya que es propicia para su alimentación y subsistencia. La Unesco declaro patrimonio nacional estos lugares, en defensa de estos animales que están en peligro de extinción.

Su comportamiento se podría decir es tímido, pues no son animales que salen a la superficie a "socializar" como los delfines, al contrario se alejan de las embarcaciones y el contacto humano. No son de andar en grandes grupos máximo 2 o 3 en conjunto, no se han observado grandes grupos desde su descubrimiento. Por estas características son difíciles de estudiar y visualizar en sus ambientes.
Se han realizado varias acciones para preservarlas, como el de convertir en Patrimonio Mundial sus lugares de hábitat, tratando de prevenir su posible extinción ya que hay una población mínima de estos bellos animalitos, también se monitorean estas areas presencialmente y con sistemas acústicos, previniendo la pesca ilegal en estos lugares y la pesca con mallas o enmalle, que son uno de los métodos que las hacen mas vulnerables a morir, tratando de mejorar los métodos de pesca entre los pescadores y compañías pesqueras, para que sean mas cuidadosos para una eficaz selección, sin peligro para ellas.
Desde donde estoy (Venezuela) mi manera de contribuir con esta especie de México, seria propiciar el conocimiento de su existencia, donde viven, sus bondades para el ecosistema, su vulnerabilidad en estos momentos, en peligro de extinción y dar a conocer la importancia de preservar nuestros medios ambientes, mar, tierra, aire, pues todo es una cadena, para seguirlas manteniendo con vida en nuestro planeta. Como en estos momentos estoy haciendo, al sumarme a esta loable iniciativa, para que muchas mas personas estén consciente e informadas de esta problemática, para así poner mi granito de arena para su preservación y sobrevivencia.

The vaquita is a marine mammal, one of the smallest cetaceans in the world, with certain similarities to dolphins, but that differs from them, for its gray colors on the back dark gray, light gray sides and white on his belly, plus they have the peculiarity of having the eyes and mouth with black spots and are much smaller than dolphins, having more or less a length in females of 1. They come from the porpoise family.
The vaquita is native or endemic to Mexico. Its habitat is protected among the Islands and Protected Areas of the Gulf of California. They do not like very cold waters and almost always stay in relatively shallow waters and where the water is turbid, since it is propitious for their feeding and subsistence. The Unesco declared these places national heritage, in defense of these animals that are in danger of extinction.
Their behavior could be said to be shy, because they are not animals that come to the surface to "socialize" like dolphins, on the contrary, they stay away from boats and human contact. They do not hang out in large groups, maximum 2 or 3 together, large groups have not been observed since their discovery. Because of these characteristics they are difficult to study and visualize in their environments.
Several actions have been taken to preserve them, such as turning their habitat sites into World Heritage, trying to prevent their possible extinction since there is a minimum population of these beautiful animals, also these areas are monitored in person and with acoustic systems, preventing illegal fishing in these places and fishing with nets or gillnets, which are one of the methods that make them more vulnerable to die, trying to improve fishing methods among fishermen and fishing companies, so that they are more careful for an effective selection, without danger to them.
From where I am (Venezuela) my way of contributing to this Mexican species, would be to promote the knowledge of its existence, where they live, their benefits for the ecosystem, their vulnerability at this time, in danger of extinction and to make known the importance of preserving our environments, sea, land, air, because everything is a chain, to continue keeping them alive on our planet. As I am doing right now, by joining this praiseworthy initiative, so that many more people are aware and informed of this problem, in order to do my bit for its preservation and survival.

Quiero destacar la infografía que compartes de la PROFEPA, uno de los organismos gubernamentales involucrados en la conservación de la vaquita marina, es muy valiosa la información que aparece en las gráficas, nos hace entender la situación a través de los años de la vaquita, ¡muy acertado!🤗
