Two weeks ago, Hive hit a one year high price around $0.65 so even though the price is down around $0.21 cents per hive. The price is about 2/3's of it's high, it is still maintaining a higher level than it had during most of 2024. This is very good because it shows the staying power of the Hive Crypto currency.
Only March 2024 had a higher price but then again only slightly higher at around $0.47 so the pump that occurred two weeks ago has not given everything back of the gains that it achieved.
Hive Ranking
The only bad news is that two weeks ago the Hive crypto currency ranked 312th among all crypto currencies on CoinGecko.com. Today it is ranked 369th. This implies that other crypto currencies were able to hang on to more of their gains as compared to the amount that Hive was able to hang on to.
Gaming Platforms
I had not noticed in the past but discovered that Hive had the tag of "Gaming Platform". When using that tag to filter all crypto currencies on CoinGecko.com, Hive ranked 8th by Market Cap.
Wax which I had always believed a larger gaming platform than Hive has a lower Market Cap. It ranked 9th as a Gaming Platform and 326th in Total Market Cap.
I am only familiar or heard of very few of the platforms that rank higher than Hive on the Gaming Platform list.
DappRadar
This made me start wondering about what Dapps are actually considered to be on the Hive Platform from the outside perspective or non Hive users. So I went to DappRadar.com to learn more.
Per their home page, DappRadar is considered the World's Dapp Store.
Discover and track the best dapps, explore top blockchain games, stay agead with the widest coverage of tokens, and find exclusive airdrops. From tracking your crypto wallet portfolio to uncovering the latest Web3 trends, DappRadar has everything you need to thrive in the decentralized ecosystem.
I have not joined DappRadar but do enjoy looking over the various lists, data and filters that are available to users.
Top Hive Dapps
Since I am interested in discovering all things Hive, I decided to use the filter for "Top Hive Dapps" The first listed item is clearly not on the Hive platform but is an ad. I guess they need to make money as well to pay for the costs of servicing the DappsRadar website.
The top Hive Dapps ranked by UAW (Unique Active Wallets) are the ones that most of us use and are very familiar with:
1 - Splinterlands
2 - Ecency
3 - PeakD
4 - Terracore
5 - Hive Blog
6 - Actifit
7 - Liketu
The next page contained some names which I have never heard of before:
8 - Crownrend
9 - Hive-Engine
10 -BeeSwap
11 - beempy
12 - DBuzz
13 - Krypto Gamers
14 - HiveSlotGames.com
15 - Rising Star
16 - eXode
17 - Podping on Hive
18 - Rise Of The Pixels
The one thing I noticed about these is that the UAW Unique Active Wallets) drops rapidly from the 8th place Dapp Crownrend of 118 to the 18th Dapp Rise Of The Pixels of only 6 UAWs.
I share in the next two pages the rest of the Hive Dapps that have at least one UAW.
This list leads me to question how the number of UAW are counted as I would have thought that some of these Dapps would have had a lot higher count of Unique Active Wallets.
I think the issue with these tracking sites is they rely on contract data, not visitor numbers, so if they can't see unique wallets interacting with a contract for the platform they won't register.
That makes sense. Thank you.
