Microplastics are linked to serious health issues, such as impaired reproductive health, disruption of the endocrine system, weight gain, insulin resistance, and even cancer.
Recently, researchers from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona published a study in the journal Chemosphere, on sciencedirect. They discovered that when we drink tea from a teabag, we are also ingesting numerous microplastics and nanoplastics. These microplastics do not pass through our bodies via feces; instead, they are absorbed by intestinal cells, which can cause harm to our health.
