Hi, there! How are you? I hope that you are doing great. Welcome to my post. It’s a short diary entry for Monday, December 16, 2024.
Unlike morning shift duty, the evening shift was quite hectic. Usually, around evening time more patients visit together. But, today seemed more patient for me. I had hardly any free time during the shift. I went to the mosque for the evening prayer and the last prayer of the day keeping a few patients waiting in the queue. I consulted around 30 patients during the evening shift.
I got a good number of abdominal cases today. One of them came with acute abdominal pain. Others came with the features of indigestion or dyspepsia. One or two of them had the features of gastric or peptic ulcer disease.
One 9-year-old boy came with upper abdominal pain. It was his second visit in the last two weeks. His blood test came positive for H. Pylori, one of the notorious bacteria in the stomach. This is the first time I have found a child with a positive H. Pylori. This bacteria is associated with increased acidity, ulceration in the stomach, malignancy in the gut, etc.
Before lunch, I walked on the treadmill at home for around 15 minutes. Then, I had a short afternoon nap before joining the evening shift duty. In the morning, during the school days, I don’t get a chance for morning sleep. I could make 9k plus steps on Monday.
Here are some photographs I captured recently

Okay. That's all for today. I am alive, healthy, and thriving, Alhamdulillah. How about you?

It's impressive how you managed to consult 30 patients, especially with so many abdominal cases.
The case of the 9-year-old boy with H. Pylori is particularly interesting, as it's not common to find in children.
Thanks for the beautiful pics.

Maybe the child has been eating too much acidic food or drink, would that cause it?
I asked because I drink a lot of lemonade and I do not want it.
!LOL
Eating acidic or spicy food causes more acidity. But, it doesn't bring H. Pylori. It's transmitted by the gastro-oral ( consuming food contaminated with vomitus from an infected patient), oral-oral (saliva), or fecal-oral route (fecal contamination).
ew, now I see why you wonder how a child has it.
