We Are Alive Tribe: We Are Alive And Thriving||I am Alive Challenge||The Courage To Be A “Finisher”.

Source

Greetings friends at we are alive tribe. I welcome you to this beautiful Wednesday and to my blog.

A finisher is one who accomplishes or completes any task he/she started or goals set.

What It Means To Not Be A Finisher

Often times we easily start up something new usually with a very high spirit then somewhere along the line we stop halfway dashing the enthusiasm and aim for which we started. Giving a lorry-load of excuses why we couldn't continue. Before one could say “Jack Robinson” we've picked up something entirely new and start all over again and as usual, somewhere along the line we lack the motivation or encouragement to continue and leave it halfway done. Before long again we've started another one. This becomes a habit and our pattern of doing things.…always starting but never finishing, as a result of this people begin to see us as unserious or unstable person and tag us with all manner of negative names.

Why People Leave Things Unfinished

Sometimes one stopping something halfway may not be a deliberate act. It could be as a result of lack of interest to continue, discouragement from friends or family, lack of motivation both intrinsic and extrinsic or high expectations from people around one. When one starts expecting so much from people around one and if such expectations are not met the motivation to continue may drop. The moment that happens it becomes difficult to accomplish that task. But if one is self motivated it will be easy to navigate through those distractions of expecting other people's validation.

##Being A Finisher

On the other hand, just like I mentioned above a finisher is one who completes any task started irrespective of how difficult it may seem, bearing in mind that it is most challenging accomplishing a thing than starting it. A finisher will encounter a lot of huddles difficult enough to discourage him/her from continuing but will always find reason to continue from why he/she started. Being a finisher takes courage, the courage to see beyond doubts, fear and any possible discouragement. Just like in a relay race the efforts of those who started the race will mean nothing if the “finisher” didn't run to the finish line. The celebration that comes afterwards will look as if there wasn't any obstacles faced at the beginning of the task but the fact remains that they chosed to refuse to recognize its presence and focus on the goal. That is the spirit of a finisher. A finisher will always be his/her own cheerleader if peradventure he/she gets encouragement from others it becomes a bonus.

Conclusion

Starting something is easy but finishing it is where the strength lies. It takes courage and discipline to finish a task amidst every present challenges encountered. There's much honour and reward in being a finisher.

Thanks for stopping by.💚
