Anyone who takes their opsec seriously probably has a Faraday bag in there posession. These are bags designed to protect you from cybersecurity threats and protect your privacy from intrusive government and google tracking programs.
You can get all different types and sizes depending on your usage requirements. Here I have a couple for mobile phones and keys. These allow me to privately travel the realm without my every movement being tracked against my will.
I just slip the phone in the bag and then can rest easy knowing that any tracking signals are being blocked by the bag. The bag is really practical and not to big to be an inconvenience.
I have found that I have gotten pretty good looks from the ladies as I traverse around the town with my new man bag whilst also keeping my opsec security at maximum level.
In my pocket it is hardly noticeable and my wife commented that I look really cool with it. When she is using her Faraday bag, she has complained about missing calls sometimes, but generally her security has been fully protected and we have tricked google many times.
The optimal way to use is to place the phone in your bag when you leave your house and when around 5km away, you can remove if wanted. Then when returning home, around 5-10km away, you can then put back in the bag to give you optimal protection.
I really like the trendy orange cord that allows quick and easy access to your device or keys. Using for keys is also important as people can try to make copy of your phone, cards and house/car keys. Therefore, keeping them protected at all times is the best thing to do.
Inside the bag is the EMR protective material. I presume some sort of tin foil. Probably the same type that those conspiracy theory types wear on their head. So far it seems to block all tracking very well though, so I can't complain.
My Faraday bags are also waterproof which is really good and an extra layer of protection. However, the main use is data protection and to stop you being unwantingly snooped on by mobile tracking stations. Even having your phone switched off is not enough to stop your co-ordinates being found apparently. Im not sure how that would work, especially if the phone had no power.
Do you use a Faraday bag? Are they good or bad?
Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading.

This was a very intresting post and educative reading for me.
No, I dont use such a bag. (And I do know what the Faraday Cage is).
So, I deduce - you are one of those folks?
Dont get me wrong but I slightly suspect that
a) this bag will not be doing the job its supposed to do;
b) google, govmnt etc. definitely have other tools of getting what they want.
I mean, when you connect using internet - they do sniff-sniff...sniff-sniff... sniff-sniff... - and, voyla! - you are recognined and counted and put into database. they run Big Data, with all the AI Clever Soft involved .. you know. Trying to hide from the government supervision with such naive means makes no sense. Then you have to throw away your phone, credit card, hide your face inside a hoodie on the streets... and I'm not sure that even that will save you!
ps. the bag looks nice btw. Have a consolative !BEER for me 😎
Those are good points, they have all the tools and means available to them to find anyone they want. I guess we should still not make the job easy for them, unless we just try to reverse psychology them and try to blend in and act normal.
👍👍👍
Interesting. I've never heard of Faraday bags for these gadgets. It might be good protection, I think. Thanks for the info.
Yes, it depends how paranoid you are 😅
pps - does it have an extra foil layer inside? lol 😅😅😅
yes, and a detachable part to wear on your head 😅
Hahah, I think I'm not enough to use them :)
I understand the concept, but I have never seen one of these before. It's pretty cool either way.
Thanks, I think it should be pretty standard tech everyone is using daily these days.
Yes, that is a good point!
Faraday bags are definitely a must for anyone serious about staying off the grid.

If tracking is such an issue, then the best trick is to not use a Google (Android) smartphone at all.
No one is forced to buy Google (Android) smartphones.
There is always a choice.
You can buy even classic phones too.
Currently I use a Motorola Moto G22 (Android 12) smartphone.
I have not used a Faraday bag so far, and probably I will not use it in the future either, but of course I know what it is.
