I live barefooted and naked, very close to Earth and Nature, in a 16-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i. It's been raining for three days straight now. It rained all last night. Today, along with lots of rain, there was also pretty strong wind, and much lower temperatures. It was positively chilly today! I had to move a few important things (like my computer) around in the Flow House today, as between rain coming in sideways and leaks in the middle of the tarp, things inside were getting a bit wet, including the end of my bed. Thankfully all my technology is fine. I've been sitting the vast majority of the day, with my computer and phone, at the desk that I have at the Flow House, for the first time since I brought it up.
This is where I've been sitting all day, wrapped up in my fuzzy warm blanket, working on Hive and Arch Linux.
I did all sorts of useful things on Hive and in Arch today. I was experimenting and tweaking zram settings in Arch for swap and /temp, to be able to build a rather problematic kernel with full link-time optimization (two other kernels build fine). After several rounds, I finally found settings that worked and allowed the kernel to build successfully.
I finally created post templates in PeakD for my new regular Linux/free-and-open-source-software and plant/garden posts. I also created a banner image for my Linux posts. It felt great to get these done! I'd still like to create a banner image for the plant and garden posts. Aside from that, I was also able to stay caught up on Hive quite well today.
Two really frustrating things happen today, too. I lost the first version of my Linux/free-and-open-source-software banner when Polish decided to be stupid. I also lost the first version of my Index4Index Daily Inspired Motivation: Never Stop Exploring, Experimenting, and Tinkering! post when Liketu also decided to be stupid. I'm really annoyed that it doesn't have templates or auto-save, so I created a template for it in PeakD, and wrote and published it that way, instead of via the Liketu interface.
That's about it. It was a very Hive-and-Arch-Linux-centric day for sure! I would have liked perhaps a bit more balance in my day, but the thought of doing much in this chilly, windy, and wet weather was just not appealing or motivating at all! I'll make up for it!
