I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 5 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Yesterday evening I discovered an excellent, very useful Hive tool, Bee Balanced, which was mentioned in the latest Saturday Savers post, that through a mathematical ratio, determines the degree to which an account could be considered an 'investor' or an 'extractor' in the the Hive Blockchain Ecosystem. Basically, investors have a net-positive effect on our Ecosystem because they add value, while extractors have a net-negative effect, because they remove value. It's not often an either/or designation, however, as many people that love, and who are strongly invested in Hive, also occasionally or periodically do use their Hive assets off-chain, in their daily lives, which is fine, of course. Most of us intend to do that at some point, but are we investing and reinvesting more than we're extracting? That is the question. The lower the number, the more of an investor an account is, and conversely, the higher the number, the more of an extractor it is.
The KE Ratio and the Bee Balanced site, come to us from the amazing work of @azircon, @beaker007, and @slobberchops, thank you very much guys, your efforts are deeply appreciated! I have a strong feeling that the KE Ratio will quickly become a much more widely-known and utilized tool, as it only makes sense that people would want to support those who are actually helping to grow and support our beloved Blockchain. This is absolutely my desire and intention. This is how @azircon describes the KE Ratio:
If I divide Author Rewards + Curation Rewards by Held HP, people who held more HP than they earn will have a fraction less than 1.0. Those who held less HP will have a fraction higher than 1.0. This is the Krampus Co-Efficient, or KE.
KE = (Author Rewards + Curation Rewards)/Held HP
The support that we give our fellow Hivers is indeed an investment, and depending on the individuals involved, this could be an excellent investment, or quite a poor one. Why would we intentionally upvote and support people who extract all or most of what they earn, to send it off-chain? That's a very good question indeed, and one that I think we should all ask ourselves and consider, because our choices do affect the Blockchain, each other, and as such, ourselves as well.
What's my KE Ratio, you might ask? Well, given that I've never extracted anything off-chain (quite the opposite), I have a KE Ratio of 0.65, which is excellent indeed. I ran the names of everyone in the Core Leadership group for the We Are Alive Tribe, and three have ratios even better than mine, which is incredible! That's a direct representation of our investment in, and our commitment and dedication to, both Hive as a whole, and to our dear Alive Tribe community.
There is talk of making this KE Ratio visible on accounts' profiles, and next to their names in comments/replies, the way that reputation is, and I have to say that I love this idea, as it would help people to quickly assesss whether an account is worth our investment of time, upvotes, and even tips. I'm all-in on Hive for the long haul, as I've said countless times before, and I want the community of people with whom I surround myself, and those whom I support, to share my indomitable Hive Fire 🔥!
Yesterday, Saturday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, just a little after 2PM, giving my attention first to some photography for these posts, and for my entry in the Reflection Hunters Contest. Once I was satisfied with the photos that I had taken, I strained and blended kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao) in the Landing, and after a short asset-management break up at the Flow House, I got my machete and collected a wheelbarrow full of assorted edible foliage for cow-milking food. I had intended again to do more soil-sifting in my old nursery, but neither time nor the rainy weather made that feasible, so I instead I took a shower, and made myself some experimental food (pepper jack cheese and horseradish mustard wrapped inside some of my spiced and seasoned ground beef, so kind of like an inside-out burger, or a burger pocket) in the Landing. With my yummy experiment and my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee in hand, I headed back to the Flow House, to dive into my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by around 9:15PM, at which point I wrote and published My Entry for Reflection Hunters Contest: Round 206 - Eye-Catching Canna Reflections, and after some asset management, and a scan of my X feed, I went to bed around 11:30PM. Thankfully I did sleep well, waking up about 6AM, doing more asset management, starting on this post, then getting out of bed around 7:30AM to go make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, and a short time later, to go milk Daisy with Jo. Once milking was done, I returned to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 12:45PM, so an excellent time to end this post, so that I may get into my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a bit later in the afternoon, to focus first on more photography for these posts, straining and blending kefir, and then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until my Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update tomorrow morning, and the next incarnation of this post tomorrow afternoon! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
