That's very cool, Benjamin! Yes, I've had that account and one other similar one upvoting my comments. That is a good suggestion! How much do you delegate for those kind of returns?

One important thing, though, since HF26 all upvotes pay out, not just those of .02 or greater. That's a big reason that I changed how I vote, and now upvote all posts on which I comment at 10%, and all comments and replies at 5%. I was wondering what the dustsweeper accounts were going to so after HF26, but they seem to have just continued on their merry dustsweeping way! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Sort:

Before the 26th Hive Hard Fork, every vote has a deduction of 50 million "rshares", and that can be called "individual dust vote" that will be dusted (gone). 🤓 That's different from what can be called "collective dust votes" which when less than $0.02 in total, will be dusted too. 😅

Oh so much dust lost into the wind! If layer-2 tokens can pay out even if the vote is under 0.02, then I think that should be what happens with HIVE too. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Creators of second-layer Hive tokens (such as tokens on #HiveEngine, #Honeycomb, and #VaultecSmartChain) can make their own rules regarding how their respective token is awarded. 🤔🤓

HF26 changed how dust votes are handled, ensuring that all votes, no matter how small, are recorded on the blockchain. However, it’s important to note that the minimum payout threshold of $0.02 still applies. If the total rewards for a post or comment don’t reach this threshold by the payout day, both author and curator rewards will not be issued.

Thank you for this, I went through 8 day old comments with $0.01 or less and saw there were no HIVE or HBD rewards, so it does appear there is still a $0.02 threshold. But tribe rewards still payed!

It apprears there is still a need for @dustsweeper. It would seem a shame to lower VP (even a little) to upvote a comment that does not reward the author or give curation rewards.

I apologize again for giving erroneous information, @ironshield! I stand corrected today! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

👍 There is always a need for dusters like @dustsweeper and @dustbunny 😀

Tribe, that's a HE token right?
If so, it's completely separate as the value is only based on your token staked and not relevant to your staked HIVE. Not sure though if there is a similar minimum payout threshold.

Arg! Thank you very much for the clarification @danielsaori! I was operating under an incorrect assumption based on a post I read about HF26, where the author aparently misundstood what it actually was. I apologize for giving incorrect information! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

You are welcome. I understand it's a bit confusing and the terminology used doesn't really help. Dustsweeper and dustbunny are pushing votes above the "dust payout threshold", $0.02, but technically this is referred to as the minimum payout threshold.

I think officially the word "dust" is only used in term "dust votes", which refers to extremely small individual votes.

I was pretty clear on all that, but I remember distinctly reading in that post that I mentioned, the author saying that the change 'made all votes count', which thinking about it now, does not mean that it makes all votes pay out. That was my confusion. Yep, it would seem then that most of my many votes that I cast per day are dust in and of themselves, without help. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I wonder why @dustsweeper isn't sweeping both my outgoing and incoming dust votes until reward payout time, even if I have more than 2.9 HIVE balance on the bot. 🤯😅

The @dustsweeper account can be programmed to vote in particular ways, such as only outgoing votes, only incoming votes, doing both but giving priority to outgoing or incoming votes. The dustbots seem to wait until just before payout time to do their voting. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

!PIZZA

I am aware of the ININ, INOUT, OUTIN, and OUTOUT modes, but I don't know why neither my incoming nor outgoing dust votes are getting swept. 🤯 None of my dust votes getting swept also has the effect of my dustsweeper balance not getting reduced. 😅

OK, good to hear. Well, given that so many tipping bots are having issues as of late, it's reasonable to think that @dustsweeper might be having problems too. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

!WEED

I saw that the #dustsweeper Hive account's Voting Power right now is exactly at 100%. 🤔 If it isn't because the bot isn't working properly, hope it randomly votes the dustsweeper service users' posts (or comments) both as an bonus for the users and also make the bot's Hive account earn Hive Power from curation. 😅

Hrmmm...I'm guessing it's not working then. I did see at least one upvote from @dustsweeper, so it's working to some degree at least. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

That is a good suggestion! How much do you delegate for those kind of returns?

I delegate about 500 HP ($180 USD) to dustsweeper and averages about $1.50/month returns, paying daily in both liquid HIVE and HBD. It's about 10% APR.

since HF26 all upvotes pay out

Huh! I didn't know that! It's a good change, but it does make dustsweeper sort of pointless. Thankfully it's still functional and rewarding a share of it's curations.

OK, that's excellent! Thanks so much for the info!

I just saw @danielsaori's comment below, so I have to apologize to you for giving inaccurate information. I originally got it from someone's post on the features of HF26, where he apparently misunderstood what the change actually meant. So the .02 rule for payouts is still in operation.

I so far know of two dust services on Hive, this one that you mentioned, and @dustbunny, that has upvoted many of my comments. There are likely others too. I'm looking at @dustsweeper now, and I see you can send or delegate HIVE to it, which is interesting. So there's two aspects of what it does. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
