Looking for Lentils

in Wednesday Walk6 days ago

I had planned to go out this Wednesday, to visit some stores in search of lentils. I wanted to do it early but due to home issues I couldn't.

After noon and under an intense sun, I set out to walk around the city. A friend invited me to enjoy a baseball game at the Avispas Stadium. I had to decline the invitation.

Along the way I took some pictures of buildings that have deteriorated over time. The investment for their maintenance has never arrived. From time to time they are solved with a little paint.

Arriving at the first store, I spotted the lentils almost immediately. They were the only type of grain in the place. There were only 2 or 3 brands of this product in the store.

In general there were few products in the store. The prices were not cheap at all. A little secret: I found lentils that had already expired. The worst part? They cost almost the same as if they were fresh.

I continued my journey. I wanted to explore other stores to see if I could get a better deal. I walked in vain. I should have bought them at the first place. I found the same brands but at a ridiculously more expensive price.

I was so upset, that I decide to go home. While I was waiting for the bus, I checked my phone to see how my team's game was going.

I thought my Avispas were already dead, but they managed to tie the game at a homerun basis. I decided to get off at the stadium, as the bus was passing by.

Once there, I joined the friend who had invited me. The emotions did not stop. I managed to see the best of the game live. Of course, my team won. Thanks to sports, I forgot the bad moment of the lentils.

Tomorrow will be a better day to buy lentils. Today's experience will be an advantage for tomorrow.

Siempre nos dejas algo interesante

I suppose lentils is part of your daily diet or maybe you have some special dishes cooked with lentils. It did make you feel disappointed to have not found the brand you were looking for. Next search will be better.🙂

I recently decided to incorporate lentils into my diet, as it has a high caloric content. Here in Cuba food is difficult, so I am trying to buy food with the highest nutritional value possible. The brand is not important, but the price is.

I understand your determination to find lentils that's priced reasonably. I am not certain though but I guess the closest to lentils that we have here are mung beans. Yes, we need to eat the right kinds of food so our bodies are properly nourished.

Glad you got to watch the baseball game!
