A bit of an exaggeration, there was no song, just a walk in the rain that now arrives here with its second part. Part one can be seen here: Rain And The City.
A cinephile or a former cinephile (like me) has a head full of names of movies seen in a lifetime. Some movies are already forgotten but their names still float in our memory. Movie names come automatically when a life situation resembles them. My walk in the rain reminded me of this 1952 movie with Gene Kelly, Singin' in the Rain
My walk through a city colored in ashen autumn and rain has nothing to do with singing, although now, remembering the movie, I also remember the famous song that gave the name to the movie, that gave the name to this story, haha...
This is how they used to walk almost a hundred years ago, with rain, music, and dancing.
The walk now is less spectacular and danceable. Nothing spectacular happens except the rain, which has become a rarity.
This walk continues the one that took me to see a violin monument in University Square in Bucharest.
My intention was to get to another important square of the city, Victory Square, two subway stops away. In other conditions, I would have walked but in the rainy conditions, I chose to shorten the walk.
So I had a short walk underground.
With a quick exit to Victory Square.
University Square is an important square in Bucharest, a crossroads of several important squares and the Romanian Government building.
In Romania, all possible elections are happening now, for the president and parliament. You can still see former support for electoral advertising if you wonder what this metal construction represents.
There is a big traffic jam here, as in the whole city. From here two large boulevards lead to the green part of the city, the part with parks and museums. The building is the seat of one of the most famous museums, the Romanian Peasant Museum.
The Romanian Government building is an architecture specific to the interwar period of the last century.
As I've said before when I've recounted the walks that happened and it's happened now, every walk has a purpose other than just getting around, in this case, my favorite cafe is in this place.
Before getting to the cafe I passed a billboard with the candidates for the presidency of Romania. I can tell you that something incredible happened. The one who qualified in first place for the second round of the elections is an unknown, a TikTok "influencer", a follower of sovereignism and conspiracy theories, and an extremely harmful character.
Two more avenues and the tallest building on the site, the headquarters of a large bank, and a few more steps to the destination.
Coffee seems better when the weather outside is more ugly, wet, and cold.
Especially when there is a cake!
I walk a lot in Bucharest. In each post, I try to show the city and be informative. I hope you can get an impression of Romania's capital from my photos.
I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words...
Since we all love photography, let’s explore the captivating details captured in these photos.!
A wise saying goes that a photograph is worth a thousand words, but I don't think so.
It depends on the viewer.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss.
This is one of the recommendations made by @tattoodjay for those who prefer walking and are used to sharing impressions and photos in his community, Wednesday Walk, every Wednesday, like this one today.
Now this will not go out of my head easily haha
🎶 :))
Well, with coffee and cake even better :D
It's a song that sticks in your head and it's good that it induces a pleasant feeling of how beautiful life is. I try to keep this feeling as much as possible, especially now.
I must admit that song come sinto my head whenever i am walking inthe rain in a city maybe a sign of our age even though that movie came out before I was born but only just LOL
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day
Thank you!
It's the same with me, I was born not long after this song and I love it, I mean I used to love walking in the rain when I was younger.
I still enjoy walking in the rain, but I hate umbrellas, just a jacket and a cap and im good walking in the rain, well when its warm out not so much inthe cold these days
Exactly the same way I like it too and I'm looking forward to a good summer rain, of course in the summer.
I loved being able to enjoy this walk in the rain with the music in the background, very pleasant, and the coffee at the end is ideal! Thank you for this walk!😃
Once again I'm glad you joined me for a walk. Thank you and you're welcome!
🤗🤗🤗
Your city looks beautiful despite the rain. I particularly like the rain and rainy days. As a curious fact I will tell you that I was born precisely in 1952 in September, and I also love that movie. I have seen it many times.
Nice theme for your post today. And nice place to have a coffee and be comforted after the cold that the rain leaves behind. Greetings @bluemoon and good day.🤗
Thank you! I'm glad I brought a song that means something to you. I'm only two years younger and I love the movies and music of that time... and the rain.
I like to walk whe it rains, but I don't like carrying an umbrella :)
Haha... me too!
