Like most people, I share the pleasure of walking. Pleasure and necessity because the many health benefits of movement are well known.
Because of these benefits, I have become accustomed to taking many walks, I can say daily walks, stopped only by health or weather-related incapacities.
The many walks and fewer places to walk make the walks happen in the same places and that's why any walk that breaks out of this pattern for me is special and hopefully unforgettable. The walks I take when I travel further from home fall into this category.
A recent trip to the sea gave me the pleasure of many walks and today I try to show some pictures from a walk a little further from the shore, to Balchik, my favorite place on the Black Sea.
I can say that I turned my back to the sea to walk up the hill behind the touristy part of the small town.
Balchik (in Bulgarian Балчик, in Turkish Balçık, in French Baltchik, in English Balchik) is a town on the Black Sea coast, in the Dobrici region, South Dobrogea, in northeastern Bulgaria, 42 km from Varna. It is currently one of Bulgaria's Black Sea tourist attractions. From 1913 to 1940 it belonged to the Kingdom of Romania, together with the rest of Southern Dobrogea, following the Second Balkan War (June-August 1913). In 1940, Cadrilat, including Balkan, was regained by Bulgaria.Source
One of the attractions of this place is the special light noticed especially by painters. It is a place chosen by many painters, both in the past and now. I discovered this city on the recommendation of Romanian painters, friends of mine.
The famous light of Balchik is due to these limestone hills reflecting the sun's white rays.
Most tourists prefer to walk along the waterfront paths, and I did the same for many years, ignoring what was on the nearby hill.
Now the time has come for a little exploration of the place.
This hill can be considered a park with minimal landscaping, which is good because nature is free to express itself.
But the sea? The sea is both near and far, a great paradox. Now the sea is very near, just turn my head and look...
God, I would have loved to spend my childhood in this place! My childhood was beautiful, I spent it in an area with many hills, woods, and lakes but my dream was always the sea!
I am grateful to fate for allowing me to come to this place and watch the sea, as this lady does. This is the bench on which I too will sit and watch the sea as long as it is here and as long as I can get there...
I wish I could be a poppy and be here every summer.
Fragile poppies have such a beautiful view!
This whole story might not interest anyone but I hope you find something interesting in the photos. Because, after all, photos are what it's all about.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss.
Wednesday Walk, every Wednesday, like this one today. This is one of the recommendations made by @tattoodjay for those who prefer walking and are used to sharing impressions and photos in his community,

As I always say, living nearby a sea is a privilege. I think I am lucky to have born in Istanbul, which has many beaches on the Black Sea shoreline as well as the Marmara Sea.
Indeed, you are lucky for this!
Great views!
Glad you like these views.
Thank you for your support!
I feel your love for the sea. There is something about water that draws our hearts towards the sea. The poppies are gorgeous and I am glad you shared their beauty with us.
Thank you! I'm glad I'm able to convey this love of the sea. The poppies are included...
Today what I liked most about the walk is the staircase, apart from the poppies. I love stairs and these stairs lead to the sky 😍
You're right, the old staircase is photogenic. Thank you!
