Walking in Danao Street Food Corner, checking and examining which food stall offers the best food that would satisfy our growling tummies and trembling knees was a way I never imagined would complete the fun from our extreme hike of the Licos Peak.
Me and my friends went for a climb in Licos Peak last time as part of our preparation for our upcoming first major climb. I discovered many wonderful and funny things about ourselves during the climb with this growing group of friends I found. The climb was both a challenge and fun! But in this blog, I wouldn’t be talking about the climb, instead about our street food experience as our way of concluding our hike.
After our exhausting and very challenging hike from Licos Peak which has a 70 to 80-degree ascent, we headed directly to the town center of Danao to check some surplus hiking gear. Hehe. We were budgeting wisely yet still checking on the quality of the gears as there are a lot of things we need to secure for our climb this June. Food and snacks were not the priority at the moment, but unexpectedly we found ourselves walking in the street food corner as commanded by our tummies.
This little corner of Danao next to the church is, I say, heaven for Filipinos who love street foods like me. The variety of street foods displayed on this corner will surely make someone scratch their head about what street food to choose! From my favorite squid balls to tempura, and so many other treats paired with the delicious drinks which I don’t know their names! The options are endless! They were just all tempting and mouthwatering to look at! Unless you are loaded with cash you can try each kind!
As I wandered back and forth looking for the best spot and tastiest food I could enjoy. I also enjoyed listening to the vendors' call and their marketing strategies in their almost screaming voices each trying to outdo the other. The competition was just so tight and I think convincing a customer to choose their stall and food felt like striking a gold. Haha.
I strolled around checking its stall, the aroma of the street foods being cooked was enticing me to try them all., Haha, But of course I need to find my favorite as I also consider my pocket money at that time.
After a couple of minutes of walking around checking and thinking, I finally found the perfect corner where I could stretch my legs while savoring my favorite snacks.
Aaaahh, ending my day with a plate of my favorite snacks in front of me after a long hike. What a beautiful day!
