AdulTHINGS: Productive Wednesday Walk!
When I was just a teenager, I thought adulthood is much better than going to school and doing school works. I was hoping for the time to fly so fast that time because I was tired of being a student anymore and what I want is to just be an adult already and work. Because I thought being an adult is easier than being a student. What I have in mind back then is you will just work and then you'll have a salary to enjoy for your hard work when you're an adult. Unlike being a student with nonstop stress from a pile of school works and plus the fact that you're not being paid for doing it. But I was totally wrong. Now that I entered adulthood, with so many responsibilities, my eyes opened on the reality that it is way stressful and tiring than being a student. It was stressful to the point that you will wish to be a mere student only again.
Anyway, let's forget that little rant of mine and let's just talk about how my wednesday went very productive today as I went to government offices in the city to process some legal documents for adulthood. So I asked my partner if he could go with me in the city next to our town which is Olongapo City to do some important matters. And of course, without hesitation he agreed to my offer
For our first stop, we went to Pagibig office. Pagibig is a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development of the Philippines which is responsible for the administration of the national savings program and affordable shelter financing for Filipinos. As a simple employed citizen of the Philippines, it is very important to process this documents and to be part of it for the future .
For our second stop, we went to Social Security System Office. Just like Pagibig Fund, SSS is also a government-owned corporation. It's just that it administers social security protection to workers in the private sector. As an adult, it is necessary to process this kind of document for future purposes as it is an insurance benefit such as to sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and salary loan.
After a tiring walk and processing of papers, we deserve a good and delicious meal. So for our last stop, we went to one of the famous fastfood restaurants here in our country, Mang Inasal. Mang Inasal is known for the name grill expert as they delightfully serve chicken barbeque. It is also rich in Filipino culture as it symbolizes Filipino spirit of eating with bare hands with the unlimited rice offering that taps into the Filipino ethos, recognizing rice as an essential part of a meal. So for our food, we ordered their signature dish which is the Chicken Barbeque with unlimited rice. Since we were both hungry after a tiring walk, we thought that we deserved this delightful meal of Mang Inasal. And it was indeed a great experience of ending your day of nonstop walking and processing of papers to this nice fastfood restaurant!
That's all for today loves! See you again on my next wednesday walk! Gracias!
