Hi there everyone,
I hope that you’re all well and having a blast over this xmas period- as much as possible in these trying times…
And I hope that you are all out and about enjoying your #WednesdayWalks with a massive thanks and xmas wishes to @tattod-jay and #makemesmile @ElizaCheng and everyone else who participates in this great initiative too!
If you would like to know more about this #WednesdayWalk community, then click on this link to find out how and when to join in https://peakd.com/c/hive-155530/created and don’t forget to check out everyone else’s posts about their walks as we all get taken on a virtual tour of so many incredible places around this amazing earth by so many wonderful people.
So my apologies to everyone as I have been a bit hit and miss on Hive over the past couple weeks unfortunately- mainly due to work and xmas travel preparations and so my walk for this #WednesdayWalk post was as much of a geographical transition- as we are about to transition from one year to another in a couple of days- 2021 to 2022 with hope that this coming year and beyond will be so much better than the previous years.
So I started off at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, from Victoria- one state of Australia, then north, 9 hours later walking through the back paddock of my family home in NSW- another state of Australia.
On the coach, about 6 hours into the journey, we stop briefly at the historic Genoa Hotel Motel https://www.aussietowns.com.au/town/genoa-vic #haveyoubeenhere [//]:# (!pinmapple -37.480343 lat 149.664490 long the tiny TINY historic town of Genoa, Victoria d3scr) to drop off passengers to go the tiny tourist town of Mallacoota, now world renown for being the town that had to be rescued by navy ships during the xmas/NY 2010/2020 bushfires as the population had no way to leave town via the land as it was being burnt to the ground all around them.
This is the turnoff just a few metres from the Genoa hotel which goes to Mallacoota and it's not a great photo, but if you see the ridge of the hill top, still black from the bushfires that occurred here exactly 2 years ago.
We head north, past this river and tiny TINY town called Swan Reach.
We drive past these paddocks on this cold and rainy day full of cows.
Throughout the journey, I took numerous photos and video as the coach traveled along the Princess Hwy, through one of my favourite parts of Australia, capturing the bush by the side of the road- exactly 2 yrs after the most devastating bushfires in Australia and if I could get the videos off my phone to the computer here..... you would see, much of it is still black- and that’s both the ground and the trees, as the heat was so intense, it scorched the earth so badly, that nothing is growing back there yet.
You will also see that other parts of the bush are growing back, but slowly.
And finally get to my end destination to go for a late afternoon walk to stretch the cramped legs after 9hours of sitting on the train and coach walk with these 2 fur babies- Spike and Lilly.
And say hello to the local sheep (not ours)
And revel in the majesty of the beautiful, enchanting and incredible natural landscape in the back paddock
as I test out my new camera.
As I'm still waiting for the videos to upload from my phone to my computer...I'll finish my WednesdayWalk here by wishing you all- you, your family, friends and most importantly- all of the animals around the world to have a wonderful, warm, safe and amazing new year filled with an abundance of love, peace, harmony, good health, much happiness and success!
With love from Australia

Love the views from the train but after 9 hours on a train no matter how cool the views were a nice walk with nature must have felt so good
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Yes it did and in a weird parallel universe kind of thing too as after 9hours, you get off with 'sea'like'legs' and a zombie brain, so it was great to get the circulation going again and the fresh air in the lungs and to see all of that green and the other colours...almost like a dream...
👍🙂👍
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
Oh really, you made a post about the train today. Your train looks more modern with those comfortable seats. 😁
It is compared to the old red rattler that used to go up this line until a couple of years ago!
