So not my first #WednesdayWalk in a while, just my first post in this brilliant community for a while as I have been so busy becoming completely obsessed with a few related things and doing huge deep DEEP dives into them, that, combined with work and life in general, I have not had the time to spend with you all on Hive I'm so sorry to say, but please don't think I have forgotten about any of you- not at all in fact as I have spent every day thinking I just wish I had more time..and you have all #makemesmile @elizacheng and @tattoo-djay!
So I have made myself make time and here I am with a bit of an unusual #WednesdayWalk to show you.
So last Wednesday with my friend Chris who is a licensed pilot and Drone pilot http://dronefilms.com/ we took a short drive (about 6hrs away, but short for Australia) up to film Murra Warra wind farm http://murrawarrawindfarm.com/ and as we got there late afternoon, I saw these images and had to stop and go for a walk to take photos of them.
And we also put the drone up and got some stunning footage too while we were there...But that's for an ad so it's not our footage anymore...
Anyway, as we were there we walked around to different spots, then drove to a couple more and walked some more o get the right angles for firstly the late afternoon hues, then the sunset with the turbines in the foreground, then facing the opposite way from another locations to get the turbines in the foreground of the rising moon.
Me driving with my swag behind me- all the way from Cane River Station in Western Australia and handmade in 1994.
What we saw as we drove towards it
What we saw looking to the right side of the road- East, when we got there
And in the same spot, looking to the sunset in the west
And then as we packed up on that side to drive to the other, I was just about to jump into the drivers seat and looked up in the sky to see the moon rising over the field
Then the next morning we were out there at sunrise to film again but then it started raining too much, so we headed into a tiny little town called Minyip https://minyip.com.au/ which has been the location for a few Australian tv shows, such as the Flying Doctors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Flying_Doctors and movies, the latest movie to be filmed there was The Dry https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5144174/
A few hours later after taking in the warm hospitality of the tiny little town and historical Viet-Aus cafe https://www.facebook.com/Viet-Aus-Kitchen-Cafe-111266897035977/, the rain finally stopped so we headed back out to do a little 360 drone filming of our own with Tango and Wilson
Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed my unusual Wednesday walk as much as I did- first time experience for me assisting with the drones and I can't wait to do it again!
And it was so cool to see those massive wind turbines so up close and personal too.
before heading back to Melbourne Via the Grampians https://www.visitgrampians.com.au/ for some sunset sightseeing before lockdown locked us up again.

What an unique Walk post love the views
And I remember watching the Flying Doctors years ago
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk
Ha yes, definitely a unique walk-one that I have never done before and lots of walking too and driving (and freezing)
Yeah I remember watching the flying Doctors too- so many year ago...lol...
Thanks for having me and good to be back.
Finally out of lockdown 4.0 tomorrow so I'll be able to take my smashed phone (camera) into Optus to get it replaced (lucky I pay insurance on it...) as I have not been able to take any photos since then and that was 2 weeks ago and I have seen so many photos that I could have taken....
Glad your coming out of lockdown and can get your phone replaced
Have a great day
Amazing to get into the outback and see a massive wind farm up close.
Just need to move all the politicians to that wind farm so their hot air can produce something useful - extra electricity.
Haaa yes! But then they'd refuse cause they're too much climate skeptics and wouldn't believe...
And believe it or not, that is not the outback- Not even close to our outback. It's defintely out back yes that's for sure. But our real out back is mare like what you'd see in New Mexico...Arizona...I'll dig out some old photos from about 1994-1997 one day and show you cause I did live out there once. In fact my oldest brother now lives over there driving road trains- trucks that have 4-5 trailers attached and he does I think 12 hour shifts- 2 drivers to each truck and they don't even pass any towns, straight to the mine out in the real desert and then back to the port on the coast...
But yes, It was so incredible to be allowed to go onto the wind farm and film up so close!
I wish I could show you the footage...One day...
Yes, I know its not the real outback. I'm Australian originally and own property in Collerenebri, a remote north western NSW town.
I've driven from Melbourne to Brisbane via the inland route and spent lots of time west of the great divide.
Wow yes Collerenebri is definitely getting out to the sticks- heading out towards the back o' Bourke...lol...
And near Lightening Ridge. My old Science Teacher from Bega High used to own a lease there and gave my brother lots of opal shards which he used when making his clocks out of tree burls.
To be honest, I haven't ever been there- I've been up and down a 100 times but on the eastern side of the great divide... that coastline is sensational... And now you're in the states eh.?
Yes. Colly is very close (in outback terms) to Lightning Ridge. It’s the closest place with a supermarket open on a Sunday and a fun funky place.
I live in Tel Aviv, Israel these days.
As far from Colly as you can imagine, in every way.
OH WOW- from one extreme to another!
How exciting and adventurous!
I must hear more about your adventures one day!
Funnily enough, Collarenebri is how I got into cryptocurrency.
I have solar electricity farms out there and when the solar feed in tariff got reduced massively I was looking for other things to do with the electricity and started investigating Bitcoin mining.
I started mining ETH at home in Israel to try out the concept.
ETH GPU mining proved to be not set and forget at all and thus not suitable for a remote location like Colly but I continued to be involved in many ways from that unusual crypto beginning.
Hey hope life is treating you well and things are going smooth. Greetz from Germany 😊
Thank you hon, yes, life is good- always an adventure, but I always try to make it a good one!
And you? How is life for you in Germany these days?
Hi, happy to hear that you're doing ok. Life is going here lol. Still figuring out what to do when it comes to a job but I might make some progress. Currently I'm helping renovating an old house so that keeps me busy lol.
You must be having so much fun getting dirty renovating the house!
I've never renovated one but have had the great opportunity to do some decontructions over the years- god I love getting dirty like that- so much fun discovering things too...
The job will come when it's ready to- and when you're ready to do it, so don't panic, just enjoy what you're doing now.
Lol it is fun and it isn't.
I'm not really panicking about the job. I'd rather have more time to let the things develop on its own but therefor I need to have our Social Care System leave me alone with offering me jobs that I don't wanna do. Once they say they don't care and that I have to do whatever job comes around I'm screwed. Keep your fingers crossed that I can buy myself some more time lol.
What's up with your projects?
Wow, those are amazing pictures - lots of swag behind you in the car lol
Haa yes thanks and so many more I had to choose from too.
Only 1 swag in the car, but lots of drones, camera and computer equipment. So much fun!

In the first photo I thought someone was crammed in bac with a bunch of gear piled on them.
Haaa yeah lots crammed in the back and my swag. I love sleeping in my swag, it's like a coocoon and it's an old one, not one of the flashy new ones like tents and I have had some of THE.BEST.Sleeps.EVER in there, to the point where it rained so hard one night and flooded my friends in their tents (so they had to sleep in the car..) and I was in my swag on top of a picnic table and had no idea that it rained even a drop...
That's what my car looks like when I go on camping trips. Then you have to find a particular thing and dig through a hole pile to find it. I got a new tent recently that hopefully won't leak, last tent let in a good 3 inches of water when I woke up in the morning.
Haaa tent to a waterbed...
Yes that's what my friends car look like every weekend when we/she does her backyard glamping events- she throws everyting in and then when I help her, I pull it all out and re-pack it in...and then there's so much more room when I do!
I've never actually played Tetris- on the game- only in cars and apts.

That drone is massive! I've never seen one that big before. I guess that kind of equipment makes all the difference for professional stuff. It really does look like a small human could ride that thing.
Yes he is huge. Tango is his name...Blades big and strong enough to slice an arm right off too....
