Like Paul McCartney "I'll follow the sun" on a Wednesday Walk
Some days it is music that governs my actions. Sometimes, I'm not even aware of some of the things I do when I'm under the enigmatic but always captivating influence of music. .... In this case, ‘I'll follow the sun’, a little known ballad by The Beatles, written by the coolest guy ever; the gigsntesque Paul McCartney, my beloved Paulie. Out of nowhere, and I assume, due to my algorithm, from listening to George Michael in the playlist, immediately but without warning, I went to the song that inspired this post...
A melancholic, yet melodic tone. It invites you to take a nice walk and above all, it's a man's song. Not that it's sexist or much less, but it does have that masculine perspective within its verses and verses... Despite all the difficulties, ‘I'll follow the sun’? I like that aura of strength and resilience. Slight, subtle, almost imperceptible but generous enough to have a good effect on ordinary human beings, like me.
Every day, but especially today (Wednesday) I make my tours. In order not to get bored, I choose (sometimes, not always) different themes. Nature, the concrete urban streets of my city, the landscapes I find, and sometimes, even, as has happened before, I just sit on a bench in a square and imagine stories and it seems just by looking at people. These are things that may not make a lot of sense, but they work for me. They help me with the stress and the burden of anxiety that I have to deal with....
Lately, I haven't been feeling well at all. I've had some tough days mentally and personally. My daughter has been sick too often and I've had a lot of run-ins with my partner (not related to my daughter, but between us adults). Sometimes, I won't deny it, I feel extremely lonely and living in a city that is beautiful but ghostly to me, I feel that the best thing I can do is to unload the negative through actions that benefit me. Walking, running, jogging, occasionally drawing, writing, and finding inspiration and company in a Beatle.
The gentleman in the cover photo of this post, you can tell he has several decades on him, and every time I come home from work I see him in the same position, in the same place, at every sunset. Between 5:45 and 6:30 p.m., he is simply focused on what is happening on the horizon. Perhaps he has no idea that anyone is watching him, but I find it intriguing and striking that such simple things are so enchanting. Perhaps he can never catch the sun, but he admires it, enjoys its light and marvels at the colours of every day's evening. Maybe he even knows the song that unites us (I insist, without knowing each other). Who knows...
Lol following the sunnita always good luckily here in Italy it's the sun that follow you 🤣🤣
Hahaha, I'm quite sure that's exactly how you describe it.
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk and have a great day
