One day for a walk in Novi Sad

in Wednesday Walk7 hours ago (edited)

Every time we go to Novi Sad for a day trip, we know there will be a lot of walking.
We always move like elephants, along already known roads, always visiting the same places that we love most in Novi Sad.

During our visits to that city, we have two scenarios, depending on whether we came by train or car.
When we arrive in Novi Sad by train, we limit our tour to a walk around the center with a tour of only one more distant point, the fortress or the beach or the park.
And when we arrive by car, we have the possibility to visit all those points in that day.
It was the same this time.
With the fact that we had another additional task that took us to Novi Sad neighborhoods that we had not been to before... In the desire to help our friend and to look for a preparation that is supposedly only available in Novi Sad, we visited several pharmacies.
Hmm, that there is one in Novi Sad, but not in Belgrade? My skepticism turned out to be correct. We didn't find it...
After driving from pharmacy to pharmacy on the outskirts of the city, we drove to Novi Sad beach "Štrand".
A long promenade by the Danube takes us past the local football club, on whose pitch the freshly cut grass awaits the next football match.

Along the way we also came across some interesting street art.

The summer season is long over, but you can still drink coffee in beach bars every sunny day.

After we drank coffee, and I was a little interested in photographing the "Sloboda" Bridge and some ducks that I photographed in the shade of an umbrella for #ShadowHunters, we headed to one of the most loved and visited attractions of Petrovaradin and Novi Sad, the Petrovaradin Fortress.

We drove up the cobblestone street to the parking lot and started walking around the fortress.
A big crowd, the likes of which we have almost never seen at the fortress, made it almost impossible to take a nice photo of the famous Petrovaradin clock. However, from the ramparts there is a magnificent view of the Danube, and the crowd did not bother...

In the part of the fortress where there is not much crowd, I enjoyed the view from the ramparts and the beautiful clouds in the blue sky.

I also caught a pair of #Birds two pigeons that were sunbathing on the rampart.

After walking around the fortress, we decide to go down to the city center.
We park the car in a narrow street and start a new walk.
We walk around the city until the sun begins to descend on the horizon and cast shadows on Novi Sad's buildings.

We go to our favorite restaurant "Veliki" and order some of the Vojvodina specialties

Chicken rolls wrapped in bacon, stuffed with dried apricots and plums with rice and vegetables

as well as Štrukle, homemade dough filled with cheese, topped with neutral sour cream and baked in the oven

If you find yourself in Novi Sad, I recommend that you try some of the authentic dishes of the Vojvodina in this restaurant.

When it started to get dark, we slowly packed up and headed for the car, then home...
On the way, we stopped in Indija at the Outlet Center, and while my companions visited the stores in search of discounted clothing items, I was interested in photographing a fountain and the facade of the buildings.

It was a very busy day, just right for a #WednesdayWalk

Thank you for stopping by my post and I hope you enjoyed the photos and the story I shared with you

Is there some place called Stary Sad? ;)

I remember, it was a long time ago, when the first translators started on the Internet, the translations for Novi Sad were New Now, and for Subotica little saturday 🤣

🙂
And do you have Velika Strana in Prague?😁

We do - that’s how we call dumping ;)

I guess Petrovaradin would be the stary part :D

Novi Sad, one of my favorite cities in Serbia 🤩

it has also changed a lot in the last 30 years, but it is still a city with a soul, calmer and more beautiful to live in than Belgrade, where I live.

Novi Sad is such a beautiful place love all the photos you shared with us, I visited there but just for one night maybe 20 years ago so didnt see as much of it as I would have liked

love the art

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk

Have a great day

You too, dear @tattoodjay
I'm glad you like my photos 🙂
When you were in this city, the atmosphere must have been even calmer and tamer than today...
And even today it is nice to live there...

Odlične fotke, lepo predstavio Novi Sad!
Meni kao umetnici ipak se najviše dopala ulična umetnost. 🥰🖌️

Pozdrav, zemljače! 👋

Excellent photos, beautifully presented by Novi Sad!
As an artist, I liked street art the most. 🖌️
