Wednesday Walk - In Search of a Lost Tortoise

in Wednesday Walk3 years ago

I'm having a little holiday, staying with a friend of mine. One of her neighbours has lost their tortoise. My friend has just moved into the area so she's not sure how it managed to escape. They've done a leaflet drop and they've put posters up. I did refrain from asking them what did it look like?

Anyway, I took the pooch for a walk and go look for the tortoise. We passed someone selling a Star Wars bespoke fire pit. I'm a big fan of the old school Star Wars films so I was tempted to go and ask them if I could just look at it. I didn't think they'd appreciate it though. We carried on looking in people's gardens for the escapee.

I'm not very familiar with the area at the moment, so I kept Mr Pooch on the lead. He's a good boy though.

It's marvellous what you find in the wood. We came across a badger sett. Not sure if it's inhabited or not.

We also found a caravan. How random!

Someone on the lane was giving away certain items for free. I love a bit of recycling.

I like a political statement where you least expect it.

Sadly, I didn’t find the tortoise but I did go back with a free lawn trimmer!

I hope they find their tortoise, I would have been intrigued to see the Star Wars bespoke fire pit also

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)

I'm still tempted!

👍🙂👍

Always a good day to have a walk with the pooch.

I wonder how one loses a tortoise. They aren't really known to be escape-artists, like Siberian Husky's are. They can't really flee at high speeds, either; playing chase is not their forte. Regardless, I hope it is found!

It can't be far away. 🙂

great selection of randomness, fab

I love walks like this.

Hahaha! I hope that thing still works!
Hope the tortoise would return home soon.

It's nice to have a little "holiday"... and see things you dont you usually.

Just wish I could find the tortoise.
